Toby is such a source of frustration. I was a centre back in my day and when Toby joined Jan I thought we were sorted until those guys decided to retire. Didn't see the toys being thrown out the pram at all, as he seemed a pretty down to earth and classy guy. Sad.

Imagine you were in a job and a fellow professional at another firm who wasn't half as good as you, was on significantly more money.

Would you be happy in your current job?

This is Toby's last big contract. People need to remember that he's not a Spurs fan.

Honestly? If I was on PL footballer wages I'd be a paying faaar more consideration to where I'd be happy than where I could earn the most. What can you actually do with £8m a year that you can't do with £5m???

There are some suggestions that they aren't very close off the pitch - not sure if this ties in to the ITK suggestions about Toby upsetting Poch

So late on in the window now. We just need to get the most we can for him, and move on to our target.
I would love a swap with Martial yet it's not looking realistic and the way we bossed them on the pitch at Wembley is a bigger statement then demanding Martial in exchange.

Selling Toby and getting Martial makes us worse. So many people keen on it simply for a signing for signings sake.
So true.. what has Martial done in last 3 seasons to warrant his price going up..square root of bugger all (& no-one come at us with stats, watch him play) he's quick..average to decent technically.. decent finisher.. tactically inept & Charlie big b*llox & lazy.. selling to Utd in a Mourinho system goes a long way to securing a top 4 place.. will go down as Levy's biggest f*ck up if it happens imo

Fully agree. Its why i would rather keep Toby. Why strengthen a direct rival for a top 4 berth? If it were Liverpool in for him would we rationalise his sale there?

All of the top 6 clubs would be strengthened by a player like Toby.

what has Toby done recently to warrant not cashing in on him?
injuries in the past 2 seasons, and he's done something to piss Poch off. Contract running down, Davinson only getting better.
Get rid imo.

Why are the only options sell to united or keeping for a year. No way he could stomach a year on the bench. Almost 2 full seasons wasted at his peak.

There would be plenty of teams willing to buy in europe for more than £25m after our window closes.

this might not be the right thread but ive seen it so many times, i feel it is. What does 'suck' actually mean in the bad use of the word? Suck Dick? I mean surely that depends? or is it that 'ive been forced to suck dick'? which if so, says alot about the American mind, if thats a constant threat in the back of your mind. Can someone clear up the etymology of this as its creeping into English
I believe it just means 'bad'.......The dick part comes from your filthy mind. But I might be wrong as I don't come from the colonies.

Pissing Poch off should never be a reason to sell a player. He's not the alpha or the Omega. That line gets bandied about quiet alot on here. If he had pissed him off to the extent that it warranted his sale he would not have played him in the final few games of the season.

I think Poch IS and should be above such pettiness and the greater good of the club should come first. Where a player behaves badly then like in the work place progressive discipline should be applied.

Many a manager has tried the iron clad approach.. It works for a short whilst and then player power takes over. Which in its own can be far more damaging.

worked all right for Ferguson for a few years...

Anyone who had led others for a while realised that you have to be ruthless sometimes to defend the values of the group...
