My understanding is that he was never on our books, he was just here on trial. I don't know that for sure but that was what I thought.
We have 2 players in England U16 squad playing today. Saw tweet earlier can’t find it now.
Stephy Mavididi has gone to Juventus and Dan Crowley is finally starting to find his feet at Willem II. Feel that there was another English player I read had gone abroad but can't think of who it is
Yep - Crowley has started both games and scored once. Below is a list of other young English players currently abroad. One of these?
Elliot Moore - OH Leuven (Belgium 2)
Chuba Akpom - PAOK (Greece)
Dan Crowley - Willem II (Netherlands)
Marcus McGuane - Barcelona B (Spain 3)
Jadon Sancho - Dortmund (Germany)
Mandela Egbo - Mönchengladbach II (Germany 4)
Denzeil Boadu - Dortmund (Germany)
Chris Willock - Benfica B (Portugal 2)
Kaylen Hinds - Wolfsburg (Germany)
Keanan Bennetts - Mönchengladbach (Germany)
Reo Griffiths - Lyon (France)
Harvey St. Clair - Venezia (Italy 2)
Noni Madueke - PSV (Netherlands)
Jonathan Panzo - Monaco Res. (France 4)
Jake Clarke-Salter - Vitesse (Netherlands)
Matthew Bondswell - Leipzig (Germany)
Ash Kigbu - Wolfsberger AC (Austria)
Ronaldo Vieira - Sampdoria (Italy)
George Hirst - OH Leuven (Belgium 2)
Patrick Roberts - Girona (Spain)
That's it Roberts. How could I forget.
Apparently he got on yesterday as well.
Crowley was such a talent but for whatever reason it never happened for him in England I always remember the debate over the age group was who was the bigger talent between him and Onomah. Crowley had massive rep at Villa and never filled it at Arsenal. He struggled for games last season but has started this season really well. Hope it comes off for him, as he is still young and the talent is most likely still there. If he overtakes Onomah considering how far Crowley fell off the map, that will be incredible.
Roberts is the other one. Don't know what happened between him and the England coaches, as he was still never being chosen but playing in La Liga will be great for him. 2 talented players from that age group getting game time will only be good for England. If Roberts fulfils his potential there is still serious talent there I reckon.
Duh, he is paid to train, not to play games. Not first team games, not U23 games, not games for another club. No playing games allowed. In fact, if he is found even having a go at a sudoku in the canteen at lunch then he's immediately sent back to the training pitches to practice throw-ins with Serge Aurier, as it will help his development no end if he can simply rub shoulders with the best experienced pros there are in his position.it's so frustrating to see taa and wan-bissaka start for liverpool and palace whilst kwp's career still hasn't even really got started - and doesn't look like beginning any time soon either. i think i said this exactly a year ago as well but he really has to push for a loan or something between now and the end of the window.
we should have sold Aurier to promote KWP to go along with Trippier.it's so frustrating to see taa and wan-bissaka start for liverpool and palace whilst kwp's career still hasn't even really got started - and doesn't look like beginning any time soon either. i think i said this exactly a year ago as well but he really has to push for a loan or something between now and the end of the window.
Agreed. That said, if Crowley were to overtake Onomah I think that's pretty telling that we've not helped Josh develop as he could have.
With Roberts, I wonder if Scotland is sometimes seen as a bit of a player graveyard. I can't remember the last time a player got called up for English age group football when north of the border. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Kent and Ejaria while they're up there.
It's good to see Keanan Bennetts has a first team squad number for Mönchengladbach by the way. I was hoping he may have played a part in the 11-1 cup win at the weekend but unfortunately not.

It's particularly hard to stomach with KWP though. He's been good to great every time he's played at RB in the first team (as I can remember, anyway). Yet Aurier, who is a walking free-kick generator, is blocking his path to the rotation spot.At this point even I'm tired of even complaining about the same players. It's one of those helpless positions, where you hope for the best as you know his potential, though know deep down it won't really happen, despite seeing other players get chances elsewhere. And you can't comment or criticise as we don't know what's happening in training or they aren't good enough, but we must keep faith that the manager will give chances to the next player that is good enough.

I actually don't mind Aurier and expect him to come good, the issue is that I still think KWP has great potential, yet Aurier is given chance after chance after chance, despite messing up, to come good, while KWP gets 2 starts and 2 MOTMs yet still doesn't get a chance. As I say Aurier will eventually come good, he will be a 7 out of 10 player then everyone will praise Poch for doing the right thing, as he makes sure his signing comes good, then KWP falls by the way side, and becomes another player who isn't good enough for the level we want to play at. But of course it is equal opportunities for all, must be Aurier working harder in training and being an all round better guy. It is an area that is impossible to critique
