We've ridden our luck in many of our victories this year...I feel that luck will end with a huge solid bump tonight.

I am literally dreading this game.

I wish I could be more optimistic.
That is about as optimistic as it's possible to be.

I remember that amazing 2-0 win over them in October 2016. We absolutely suffocated them in that game. How long ago that feels now. Although I'm sure the move to Wembley took that style away from us.

It's so important for the fullbacks not to bomb forward too much tonight. We can't leave ourselves short like we did against Liverpool. I feel we need to approach it like the away team. Stay compact in midfield, Kane holding the ball up and playing off him on the break.

I fancy the thought of Son and Alli on the bench as well today. They could make an impact.

I'd be happy with a sensible game-plan and sticking to it, even if we get beaten

Since we start most games slowly, putting a shift in for the first 20 minutes would also be a bonus :cautious:

The fact City didn’t agree to reversing this fixture is a farce and it should have been forced on them, it’s not exactly a big deal playing 3 away games in a row.

Really looking forward to us getting walloped by the state of Qatar tonight.

They are perfectly entitled to refuse. It’s not their fault our stadium building timetable was too ambitious.

Unfortunately I can see us playing the same way again. Trippier in particular seems hell bent on playing virtually as a winger despite the opposition or game situation. How much of that is him or instruction from Poch is up for debate.

It's actually heartening to see so much negativity and lack of expectation. That means the Match Thread will be free of the hysteria, over the top vitriol aimed at our players and general all round boohoo-ing.

Bang me up with the optimistic rating.

I agree but with the NFL game everyone predicted this situation so they shouldn’t be moaning.

Cut their nose off to spite their face.

If Trippier plays instead of Aurier I’m going to be so fuming.

Sane mugs him off every single time.

A few years ago I was confident we would give them a good game and even had a good chance of winning, how things have have changed. Expecting a loss anything else is a massive surprise and bonus.

Its funny that everyone thinks we're going to get hammered. What is the most Spurs like thing to do in the current situation?

We'll run them close, be hard done by with a poor ref decision and lose the game saying we were robbed.

Lots of doom and gloom on here and of course that's a reflection of the glass half empty mind set at the moment.

Completely agree we could get battered as we haven't looked solid defensively of late and there haven't been too memorable performances yet this season. But we've great players, with a very good Wembley Premier League record, and we're competing at the top end of the table. For me, this depends almost entirely on the players' belief. Are they up for it? Time to stand up and send a massive signal to the rest of the league.

We can do this. COYS.

Let's face it, City are undoubtedly the 'measuring stick' by which all other Premiership clubs are currently rated against. Personally I am looking forward to the game as I think we are capable of making a real upset tonight and getting the three points. First goal will be crucial (awful cliche I know) but in this case a genuine one. City score first then the seeds of doubt are sewn but if we can nick one then it may just be the confidence booster needed to push on for a second. I just hope Lloris keeps a cool head because anything rash tonight and they will punish us big time.
COYS....let's grab third spot and push City down to fourth.(y)(y)

Having this sort of optimism is to much for me right now, would love it but i see their midfield running is ragged.

Just coming in to post the same thing. If Trippier starts then I think we will know how the game will pan out.

I just hope he doesn’t put Sonny in the other full back spot!

Taking a break from all the doom and gloom for a bit, I'm so scared Trippier is going to start again. Terrified of it. It's inevitable but terrifying.

Gazzaniga
Aurier Sanchez Alderweireld KWP
Lamela Dier Winks Eriksen
Llorente Kane

Lloris
Foyth
Davies
Sissoko
Dembele
Son
Lucas

Play proper Brexit football, classic 4-4-2 two big guys up front we can hoof it to, Lamela and Dier to tackle every city player
Take on Dembele for Winks and Alli for Llorente around the 60 minute

The pitch will be shit so it will suit us, City will have some trouble playing their possession football

We can take a point if Poch isn’t stubborn and tries to play attacking football because we will get battered, we need to play brexit football COYS
