It's actually heartening to see so much negativity and lack of expectation. That means the Match Thread will be free of the hysteria, over the top vitriol aimed at our players and general all round boohoo-ing.

Bang me up with the optimistic rating.
Keep reaching for that rainbow

Bad pitch will favour City more than us.

We both like to play out through the back and midfield, difference being we don't have the midfield players and they are much better at pressing than us.

I'm gonna predict we give at least one goal away from an individual error at the back.

But we have Sissoko and he’s used to having a bad first touch... this game is made for him

Since everyone around here is being so positive figure I'll join in:
Score: Man City 128 - Spurs 1
Spurs MOTM: Lamela (1 goal, 2 murders)

I am assuming this thread is full of good old fashioned British pessimism with fingers crossed behind our backs for a result we dare not voice

Let's face it, City are undoubtedly the 'measuring stick' by which all other Premiership clubs are currently rated against. Personally I am looking forward to the game as I think we are capable of making a real upset tonight and getting the three points. First goal will be crucial (awful cliche I know) but in this case a genuine one. City score first then the seeds of doubt are sewn but if we can nick one then it may just be the confidence booster needed to push on for a second. I just hope Lloris keeps a cool head because anything rash tonight and they will punish us big time.
COYS....let's grab third spot and push City down to fourth.(y)(y)
You've pretty much posted what I would have.

It's crazy as we win this and we're right up there in title contention. Not that I think that would be sustained but you wouldn't be able to ignore the fact in current standings at least. Thing is it feels so unlikely that I can't even allow myself to dwell on that possibility.

I just hope we're not wide open or leaving an incredible amount of space behind the back line. It's just a weird feeling coming up against Man City when you have what they did to us last season in the back of your mind.

It's a shame to think in such a way, but I'll be shocked if we not only don't lose, but if we even don't concede at least one within 30 minutes as well.

Thing is, teams know exactly how to play us now. Get at us from the off, and we'll make a mistake or three!
