Overreaction of the century or what ?.
We narrowly lost to a great team don’t be such a baby
It is this kind of attitude which feeds the whole situation. You think our performance today was acceptable? It was embarrassing at times.

We competed well. They had two clear chances, 1 they scored, we had two and didn’t. That’s the difference tonight.

Different outfit when Winks came on too, Dembele and Dier were very sideways.

Not much between the two if you take a subjective look, clubs in a shaky place but there were positives to take from a team competing against one that everyone has as clear runaway favourites for the league.

Poch got the tactics right but the players wrong, terrible decision to play Trippier yet again in a game like this and why the fuck Winks didn't start I'll never know. I caught some flack for suggesting sissoko should start this game but thankfully he did well, he's a limited player but if we can try and maximise his strengths and limit his weaknesses he can be a great asset.

They weren't all that.
We were slightly less all that.
Should have drawn.
Winks should have started for Dembele.
Who looks like a bull
just before the end of the bullfight
Gave them a goal.
Then missed at least two good chances.
Much closer than I thought.
Chelsea for the league.

Overall we are a poor side...it was kind of like watching Wolves, Brighton or Huddersfield against City tonight. I thought we looked much better when Winks, Eriksen and Dele were on the pitch and I think that is what we have been missing so far this season.

Dembele is finished at the top level whilst Trippier and Davies just aren't of the required level.

I think Poch has taken this group as far as he can and if he gets the opportunity to manage at one of the mega money clubs he should take it. He will never win anything with Spurs. I'd say the same for Kane, Alli and Eriksen also.

City are just superior to us all over the park and the pace that they move with the ball and the ease with which they ran past our players was very impressive to see. They had an off night also but in the end could have won by more.. for our part we only looked good in the last 20 and by then it was too late...Winks should have been on at half time.

I think what you our seeing was that our being two points of the top was only the result of a kind fixture list and was a completely false position in all honesty.

For my part I'm just getting a bit bored with the current status quo in football. I'm fed up with Wembley and despite having a season ticket I've only attended one home game this season which was the defeat to Liverpool. I'm actually getting used to not going which is interesting as I was previously fanatical - instead of queuing for hours outside Wembley Park I'm relaxing at home and the defeat hurts a lot less...I just find it a bit boring really given that it's just about who can invest in the best players but the resources are unequally distributed.

I thought we looked so much more progressive when Winks came on for Dembele.

I'd like to see a midfield three of Sissoko, Winks and Eriksen .

With Dele and Lamela roaming behind kane.

We are shit. We carry too many players that are shit. For the same things to keep happening, from the same players, is not acceptable. We need wholesale change and we aren’t going to get it. I’m getting really fucked off with a certain group of people now, to the point I’m not even that against even Lloris or Pochettino going now.
And what are you expecting from Poch when we spend fuckall on players and don't replace the seriously injured players like Wanyama and Rose?

We could just as easily have won 3-1 or 4-1, it could have been 3-3, this wasn't one of those games where we got done hard from behind with someone pulling on our hair and slapping our bumcheeks.

I know some people wanted it to be. But it wasn't.

Yes we wasted a couple of decent chances but City picked us apart at will... stats:

Shots 4-13
On target 1-6

It was only due to poor finishing and Lloris that City weren’t out of sight.

The difference between city playing out from the back and us doing it was almost comical. We just don't have the players (full backs) to do it.

What has always puzzled me over the years with the community on SC is that we collectively never seem to realise when an opponent is in cruise control because that's all they need to beat us in certain games. When an opponent does that, it will flatter us because on the surface it looks like the teams are playing evenly. But even is not the case when one team is barely making an effort. We are poor when we can't beat a team that's playing poorly. It's that simple. We were bad. The only reason why some are fooled, is because one team virtually played with their hands tied behind their backs and still won.
