As per the start of your post, it's crucial every game.

Indeed, although I think this is one of those pivotal moments.

Screw up here and we can probably consider ourselves out of the race, save a minor miracle.

Another one of those days where the effects of conceding a stupid early goal against City, and a sloppy ten minutes against Watford start to hit home.

Without those two minor lapses in concentration, we’d now be 2nd, and five points off the top with a game in hand.

Getting three points tomorrow is absolutely crucial now.

It's the stonewall pen not given to Son against Liverpool that really hurts.

True, but we can’t help poor referee decisions, they’re out of our control.

Letting Watford snatch a win was totally under our control and we needed to do better.

That gets converted and it is a 3 point swing with a game in hand.

We seemed to have won the Watford game though and let it sloppily slide, madly and badly.

but the season doesnt end in 01 :D 1900-01,1920-21,1950-51,1960-61,1970-71,1980-81,1990-91.
Hopefully we're building and looking forward to 2020-21.:D

But 2+0+1+8=11 ?

Tbh I’ve built this game up for days in my head. Believe it’s absolutely pivotal considering fixtures that follow. If we win it’s definitely on imo.

Also although a few moans about rest days it will mean we play first over Xmas. And if we were to beat Everton and Bournemouth. A win against Wolves could take us above city albeit temporarily. But still nice to have 24 hours to gloat.

A win today would be huge. We can do it and I think we will.

Shame Liverpool have the bit between their teeth, but thy have to falter sometime and we need to be there ready to take advantage.

Just realised Liverpool have only let in 7 goals all season. I know they have been lucky but that is impressive. Of course MOTD are saying VVD is the best defender in the world ATM. With that sort of form I will be amazed that f they don't win it.

As for us, if we can at the very least bring in 1 good cm I think we could maybe even make second.

Liverpool have Arsenal and City in their next 3. If we can maintain our form, you never know.

Sunday Supplement forgetting about us in the title race as per usual - ****S.

Journalists and Pundits dont annoy me as much as they annoy others admittedly but this week I could go on a rampage against the lot of the ****s.

If we win today we ought to change the title to the race for the title - thatll be the hex we need

Let them continue. Be good to go under the radar and sneak in. Will really show them up if it were to happen.

Don't worry about it, we could be three points clear and we'd still get ignored. Under the radar is best.

Youre right, i wouldnt get the players to ignore it though, it literally use that crap from the media as motivation... I mean those players should go out today hellbent on winning that game to shove that crap down their throats.

I think the players will be more focused on what poch tells them rather than what the media are saying, but I do get your point.

just keep our heads down and keep grinding wins out. if they slip up at least we have to be there to capitalise on it.

History says Spurs will never miss and opportunity to miss an opportunity. lets see if we can finally turn that around.

It’s fair enough for neutrals to not consider us as being contenders as of this morning. We are 9 pts behind. But it could all change very quickly but most media don’t have that foresight.

You have to say Liverpool improvement in just over 12 months from when they lost to us 4–1 is pretty startling. Can you really put that all down to Alisson and Vvd. Maybe klopp should get more praise. Although we are making creeping progress and it’s hard to really judge us with stadium woes. There may be an argument klopp has out performed poch in last 12 months.

Hard to see how Klopp could possibly get more praise than he already gets. The press love affair with Klopp has been well into the pathological for a good while now. The only way he could get more credit is if he were officially named the greatest human being who ever lived.

I would judge a manager by results with respect to what would be the "average" expectation. There are plenty of things to factor in, but if you look across the league and world, basically there is a very high correlation with spending loads of money and doing well. So, Klopp and Pep might be good, great, unbelievable managers, but nevertheless, winning the league is pretty much the expected result when you spend like that. In the case of city, anything but winning a treble is a bit of an under-performance.

The most impressive recent performances are when the results are way, way above what they should be. Like Ranieri winning the Prem (for which he wasn't giving the kind of god treatment Klopp gets for finishing in the top 4 with a vastly more expensive squad), or Moany winning the CL with Porto (for which he gave himself the god treatment)
