Klopp remains good entertainment and I have no problem with him. Pep bores me to tears and I still don;t believe he is anything great. Just so easy when you manage the richest club, with the best group of players in any league ... he never matched though the treble won by his immediate predecessor at Bayern Munich ... Mourinho for all his boring football has achieved for more in the past

Really ? Yes I doubt pep could do what Eddie Howe is, but that’s not what pep is. I’d liken it to a Michelin star chef. He needs the best ingredients for his recipe to work but when he has them he produces the best food you’ve ever had. I doubt there’s another manager in world football that could do what he does he is a genius. You also have to remember he hasn’t gone out and bought gallacticos. Good players yes but not neymar or mbappe. Would PSG or Madrid have looked at mahrez I doubt it. If you swapped pep and poch with same players would we be above them I suspect so.

I just don't get how Liverpool have managed to get a better defence then us and still own dejan bloody Lovren. I know they spent big on Alison and and VVD but I was certain their awful defence was one thing you could count on. I know we have injuries but even so we aren't the same prospect we were with Walker and pre injury Rose.

This season I can see it going down right to the wire between City and Pool. I do think we will get better over Christmas and into the new year. But I don't see us catching those two especially as we still need to play both away. As for Klopp, he is always complimentary of others when his team is doing well, when they aren't he is moaning. If we were above them I'm sure he wouldn't be saying the same thing about us. One thing I like about Poch, he hardly ever moans, at least not to the degree of other managers.

There’s spending big and then theres:
  • World record fee for a keeper
  • World record fee for a defender

We haven’t had a very settled / consistent defence so far this year as injuries have meant Toby, Jan, Sanchez & Foyth have all had to be heavily rotated not to mention the issues with full backs.

It’s amazing when you look at how much the squad has rotated that we’ve been as consistent and solid as we have

If we can keep within touching distance, they play each soon pretty soon so we can capitalise on whoever drops points.

Exactly, Liverpool SHOULD be challenging for the league based on their extreme spending. For Klopp to go another year without trophies would be an abject failure on his part given the ridiculous budget he's been given.

You have to say Liverpool improvement in just over 12 months from when they lost to us 4–1 is pretty startling. Can you really put that all down to Alisson and Vvd. Maybe klopp should get more praise. Although we are making creeping progress and it’s hard to really judge us with stadium woes. There may be an argument klopp has out performed poch in last 12 months.

Just looked at the Christmas fixtures, the league has been extremely kind to Liverpool with the big rest periods inbetween games

City down 1-2 at home at HT. Townsend with an absolute worldie to put Palace. If they hold on and we win tomorrow, it'll be 2 points between us and City in 2nd.
