Its a slippery slope, first it's only a couple of just sayings and before you know it you'll be full stopping and end of-ing all over the shop.
Ask Leicester fans how Kane did on loan? And if you don't like the Kane comparison, may I suggest the examples of Rose and Mason two other young lads who had dreadful loan spells came back to the club at 22 and 23 respectfully and went own to have a massive positive effect on the club? Nobody is saying Onomah's going to become a world beater, imo he'll be lucky to have as much impact Mason did at spurs. It's just plain stupid to flatout give up on a kid that has so much natural talent.Oh for heavens sake! Firstly Kane didn’t have bad loan spells, he got injured but he banged them in fairly regularly and always knew where the goal was in the lower leagues. And frankly, comparing Onomah to literally the best striker in the world is just absurd. Just because Kane went out on loan and then came back to Spurs and became a world beater, it doesn’t mean every other kid will. In fact, there probably won’t be another one like that for another 25 years.
Calling Onomah immensely talented is just hyperbole. He’s nothing of the sort. He’s a promising young player but he failed to take his chances at Spurs and the fact that Poch shipped him out on loan should tell you he isn’t very rated. I don’t see any way back for him at Spurs.
What about backing a spurs player no matter what? and all that other lovely stuff you spew?If he can't compete in games at Championship level, how's he going to do it at Premier League level? Harry Winks is only slightly older and Oliver Skipp is younger and both have already looked better players for us.
Just not sure he's good enough tbh. If he was I doubt he'd have been put out on loan.
People really need to actually read what I said
I didn’t say he was a world class talent I said if we signed a player who’s won the U17 Euros and U20 World Cup we would say that player has world class potential
sorry forgot that he needs to start leaking goals for the 1st before he gets your support. my apologies. What has Onomah contributed to the 1st team? If he's selected, I'd back him...would he start? I doubt it.

yes you at least should. A) it makes you look less like a gigantic hypocrite B) Should always be more concerned with how players will perform in the future. Trippier will always be a liability defensively no matter how good of a crosser he is. He's also 28-29 yrs old, he's not gonna get any better and if anything will only decline. We also have 2 other younger options in his position that at the very worse is no bigger of a liability then he is.You're right, I should treat a player with barely a full 90 mins at Premier League level under his belt the same as a full international, regular starter who has contributed to the success of the club recently and with almost a century of appearances.
Exactly the same situation.
Firstly Mason actually did ok in his loan spells, well the ones he actually played in. Injuries got in the way.Ask Leicester fans how Kane did on loan? Saying Onomah is immensely talented isnt hyperbole. It's fact. It just goes to show that it takes so much more than pure talent to make it at the highest level.
It's fair that you and others dont rate him, he's absolutely been a disappointment so far in his career. But to say he has no chance to make it is just ignorant.
Worth recalling that Mason was on loan at Millwall at the same time as Kane and barely got a look in. In fact most of Mason's loans were disasters. Did okay for us when he got the chance though. He was also one of Millwall's best players and scored 7 in 22 games. It's not right to say all his loans were poor.
No you're just picking a choosing what rules you want to follow. Fair play but it devalues every valid point you make. What's my negative stance? Have I called him shit? Have I said he should be sold? No.
I said I thought he wasn't good enough to make it at Tottenham. That's all.
I've also kept this opinion to a few posts in his player thread too, so if you can't see how different my posts on Onomah are a hell of a lot different from what you're blubbering on about, then I can't help you.
i dont even think you read my post, we say a lot of the same things here.Firstly Mason actually did ok in his loan spells, well the ones he actually played in. Injuries got in the way.
Having said that Onomah, despite what some on here seem to be saying, did actually ok at Aston villa, got a fair amount of football and towards the end was a useful player in the promotion push. Similarly while there is a strong arguement that Bruce isn't the right manager for Onomah to develop under he really had no problems with him in the team would defend his performances when confronted by fans and made public comments suggesting he wished to extend the loan. He is a young player with little playing experience, it's natural not to be playing every game for a top settled championship team.
Unrealistic expectations of what a loan spell should look like haven't helped Onomah. But he still hasn't shown himself to truly be good enough for us in his performances though I'm sure Poch is much more likely to judge based on what happens in the training ground then out on loan.
Fact is most players, including the hyped ones, don't make it. Bamford, Powell, Briggs, Wickham and hundreds of others where super hyped kids who didn't live up to overblown expectations. I would say 4 out of 5 have actually done very well, but most people expected so much more from all these players, when the reality is that most of the top top youth talents will not make it in the PL. This applies to every country. Onomah is a real talent but he hasn't made the final step. He probably never will but that's not a failure. It's football.
not offended, just miffed that you defend a bang avg sr player to the death, questioning the validity of other posters fandom. While being so quick to judge a youth player.Which rules are they? Explain why you're so offended that I don't think Onomah is good enough?
Is this an American thing I don't get?

And it's not an American thing because I spell colour with a u.
But I don't expect you to get that, must be a twat thing?
No sweat off my back either way, it was an average joke that I should have been able to resist. But I dont really regret it. surprised you couldnt take it thought you were a hard northern irishmen?I'd thought you were American, apologies if you're not and you've taken offense for some reason, I do however now think you're a bit of a dickhead and will be sticking you on ignore.
