It's irrelevant whether they turn up vs us or not, we're better than them and they just had an energy draining 120 minute cup final which they lost, they're going to be fatigued.
Cheers, @wrd, you just fucked us good for Wednesday. :playful:

Seems to me Azpilicueta was part of the problem and made no effort to sort the problem out.
Could Sarri have subbed his captain off (if he agreed) and selected Caballero as the nominated goalie?
Kepa could play outfield, leave the field or perhaps handle the ball twice and get sent off.
You can bring on a second goalie after all - David James was brought on by Peace at Man City, as a striker.

Yeah we go one up we should do it for the rest of the game.

Just get the fourth official to come out with a number, player says "nah, you're all right" then put the next number up.
Rinse repeat.

Should be able to waste a good 60 minutes that way if there's no law to stop it.(y)
I mean, he's obviously going to add the time on anyway, and we'd eventually get done for unsportsmanlike conduct.

We done something similar in the past against Arsenal. Think it was Ferdinand wouldn't come off for Armstrong, only Arsenal equalised late on.

I remember a game where Sir Les was booked for time wasting...

Only spanner in the works we were losing at the time (fathom that one out o_O) and yes he was playing for us at the time...:wacky:

That sums up late 90s/early 00s perfectly for us .

Here's the game that I was referring to.

I do wish Dele was back for Wednesday, can you imagine his goal celebration re-enacting that non substitution??!

Sarri needs to get out of that cesspit of a club. He comes across as a likeable guy. Chelsea are scum.
totally agree, right from top to bottom, from the board to the fans, the club is rotten inside and out. The player power at the club is disgusting too.

Not buying the 'misunderstanding' excuse for one second. There were plenty of opportunities to clear it up if there had been one - it was going on for several minutes.

Surely Kepa told the ref that he was fine to continue; Moss then went over to Sarri and told him that. Only then did Sarri truly lose his temper. It just doesn't add up.

The only misunderstanding I can think of is if the keeper was faking the injury to time waste and Sarri thought it was a real injury.

always felt he was wasting time, trying to take the game to pens. maybe he did strain or sprain something, but i didn't think i was as serious as they made it out to be.

But i wonder... did Sarri want to bring on Willy.... after all, mind games against city, he will know the players the best and i am sure had a few penalty drills against them.

I’m positive that if he had bought Willy on, they’d have won. He knows City’s players extremely well. Kepa’s blow up was disgusting and idiotic. His fumbling of Aguero’s pen after having the nerve to taunt him was justice of the highest order. It also cost his club a trophy.

Been watching football for nearly 60 years and have never before seen a player refuse to go off/be substituted. A club with any class would sack the goalkeeper but we are talking about Chelsea here.

So you have been watching football since before there was such a thing as a substitute which means in the whole history of substitutions you've never seen it, that's pretty damning on them.
Interesting someone saying he could have just been running down the clock, I have to say I have never seen a goalkeeper go down with cramp before, maybe that was the misunderstanding, Sarri misunderstood that Kepa was fucking cheating.

He went against the wish of his manager which is inexcusable, but if it genuinely was because Sarri thought he was injured I can kind of understand it. If it was tactical then the guy is a disgrace and shouldnt play for them again. Either way, if he isnt dropped for Weds then it shows Sarri to be massively undermined and weak. He will be lucky to survive the week, let alone the season if we beat them

Doesn't matter, he should always go off if his number is up. He can complain about it afterwards if he want.

At the very least, run over to the manager and let him know you arent injured and he can make a decision then. I'm still convinced caballero was a tactical change anyway
