so harsh on Moura who worked harder than nearly any other player...
Moura was shite. He's there to try and create something offensively, which he did not do even once. Runs with his head down and hopes for the best. A slightly faster Townsend.

Alli, Eriksen, Moura, Lloris, Trippier, Rose, Vertonghen, Alderweireld all started today, the starting XI wasn’t exactly threadbare. They just played dismally.
I thought Rose did well. Hugo saved a goal. Toby steady as usual. Trips has sucked for a while. We need Alli and Eriksen to play better.

I think this crew playing almost every game with no rotation is tough. Have to be fatigued.

Okay....to my mind they were always going to score at least one goal over the two legs....which meant we would always need to get two. Better to do that at their place so they need three goals to beat us....hope that makes sense to others....hic !!

Absolute crap in the biggest game of their lives.

This basically sums it up. And Ajax’s most expensive signing last season was 8m? For all the good management at the club, there seems a lot of bad too.

Son got booked and suspended because he didn’t know he’d be banned? That trumps any bad luck with injuries, that’s making your own ‘bad luck’ if ever i’ve seen it.

And our fitness staff letting Jan back on is perhaps indicative of some the wider reasons we have more injuries at the club.

It’s also incredibly arrogant to say we’d beat these lot with a ‘fit’ squad. We said that about Chelsea in the Carabao, then went there in the league and served up a 2-0 loss with Kane and Son.

I feel sorry for the fans there today as the atmosphere looked electric and the players on the pitch let them down.

Unfortunately continues a recurring theme.

Anyway, 1-0 down, but not out.

Everyone picking on Dele yes he had a poor game but he is also playing with a broken hand and out of position

Did you turn only turn on with five minutes left in the game he was one of our best players.

It's not over, although they're big favourite ls, but that was so poor.
Really disappointing.

How to spoil your chances of a cl final.
Start with a tentative defensive approach.
Concede the midfield.
Struggle to get out of your own half.
When chasing the game keep aimlessly crossing it to no-one.

We have given a really poor account of ourselves tonight. Massive shame.

I said before the game, don't underestimate them but get at them and cause them issues, make them have to worry about their defensive side.

You have to start these games on the front foot.

Sadly our restrictions are being laid bare at the greatest moment. Dele is a shadow of the player too.

There's always hope. I think we can consider ourselves lucky to come away just one goal down from that, because the first half threatened to be a blood bath. We were also lucky that the injury to Vertonghen forced Poch to add a man to midfield. Honestly, it seems like an amateur mistake to leave midfield so exposed against a team with the tradition and current ability of Ajax.

One thing about our recent form is how poor we are at creating gilt-edged chances and how comfortable it is for opposing keepers. As was the case throughout AVB's tenure, if you only hold possession for the sake of it without any purpose, you inevetibly fail to defend effectively as well as attack.

We're putting a lot on Son for the 2nd leg, but he's world class so that's not the worst situation to be in.

Not a great performance and for once someone like Glenn Hoddle is being brutally honest in his assessment.

We are considered a good passing side and yet we don't value possession and our decision making in the final third is not that of a great passing team - Ajax goal for example.

Lots to discuss with this loss, but our ability to possess the ball and lack of cutting edge in the final third is a factor.

We also saw tonight what giving Ajax time off did for them and I don't mean physically. They got their tactics right, closed down Wanyama, the three forwards dropped off and trapped us into mistakes, they have spent time working on their high line at set plays with the keeper playing high too. There were a few other things too, but this is the benefit of having time to prepare for a game.

Alli and Trippier needs to stop playing fortnite and focus on football. They have been absolute shite all season long.

With Son back and Sissoko from start we can win 2-1 away. COYS!!

Letting Jan back on could have been potentially life threatening for the lad....terrible decision.

A full strength Tottenham turns this tie around and wins in the 2nd leg.
Can't remember when we had a full strength team tbh. We have been crippled by injuries this season. A culmination of cockups that only we can do has made that possible.

And play who instead? Roles?

I agree that under normal circumstances he should be dropped but we've got no options. Have to hope he pulls his finger out.

I agree with what your saying and don't watch enough of the youth team to name names but this isn't one poor performances, hes been rubbish most the season and by not even having an attacking player on the bench he is in no danger of getting subbed let alone dropped, regardless of wether roles or whoever is ready alli needs that wake up call
