Defoe should never have taken the penalty. There was far too much pressure for him to score and as much as some of us wont admit to it everyone was dubious and worried when he stepped up... Why didnt berbatov or Jenas take it...
All it came down to was defoe wanting to prove a point against his old club. Typical selfish reasons from a typically selfish player. Why did it not come down to winning the game...
So was it selfish that he won the pen? or would it be selfish if he'd scored?
Defoe has a goal scoring record against wet spam since he left them for us and you should remember last season he stood up and scored the pen...so was that selfish?
