That decision from the ref is still quite bothering but it shouldnt esepcially as we won but it happens to often against Spurs. We got the win this time but another time (already against castle, we didnt) we wont get the win.

Just seen some analysis on a foreign channel and even Ian Wright is saying the ref should get punished. Thats how horrific that decision was.

Fair play to Spurs to keep their cool and get the second.

The West Ham 8 minute debacle definately knocked the confidence out of us, but we've ground out wins against Burnley away, and a much improved Brighton.
Winning ugly is a good trait to have, and we've seen how good we can be when we hit form.

It's nerve wracking as hell, but as long as we keep getting the 3 points I couldn't care less.
Hopefully we'll ease past WBA to show that confidence is regained after these three performances.

3 games in six days, and Sonny and Kane having to play midweek despite needing a rest

for all Brighton’s possession it was largely sterile.- the goal was their first shot on target.

but for another terrible VAR decision against the toon we’d be top...and since Jose got his squad sorted (post-Everton) we’re unbeaten ane the highest scoring team in the league

Happy with the three points, bale off the mark and we’re in the hunt...

Imagine if it'd have happened to Liverpool, they'd be demanding his resignation.

In all seriousness though, it is quite disturbing. The foul happened right in front of him, good angle too. Ok, mistakes can happen.

He's then been told to look again at the video. He's spent two mins looking, he's watched from multiple angles, he's then compared two images to give ensure it's not a trick of the eye and he STILL decides Hojbjerg wasn't fouled.

He should be straight in Monday morning to explain why he thought it wasn't a foul and then sent for retraining because he's obviously got a serious issue with his judgment or understanding of what a foul is.

Take that Penalties United.

We got our first home win before you. Even with all the pens they are giving you

Just googled the ref to see what's being said and this was the first thing that came up

Great result, but we were not good for about 60 minutes. Good reaction after their goal atleast.

Ref must be suspended, what a joke.

I’d really like to have seen Oliver skipp in there ahead of sissoko and winks. Seems to have a good engine on him, tidy player and combative- but that’s prob for another thread
Probs for next season!
Semedo has the same issue as Doherty - he gets exposed in a back four. In a back five Doherty was excellent and it's early days but Semedo looks like he'll be very good for them in that role too.

We've bought a player to play him in a position he hadn't played in for at least three years (since Nuno joined Wolves), had never played in at the highest level and doesn't look comfortable in after a run of games now. It doesn't look like good scouting.

I’m willing to give him more time, but I can’t help but agree with what you’re saying. With Doherty and Reguilón, surely a back 3 with wing backs is a better fit. My only issue with it is that our cbs are arguably our worst players and sacrificing a midfielder to play an extra one seems like sacrilege.

I can only imagine he thought he saw the player touch the ball, albeit very very sightly ahead of PEH. The replays didn't show conclusively that he didn't so he kept with his original decision. The slightest of touches and it's not a foul.

Was impressed by the Doherty decision though. Thought for sure that was going to be given. Lets go of him just in time.

Confidence boosting win in the end. Brighton made us work for it. Cheeky bid for Lamptey in the summer?

Bissouma has impressed me every time I see him. Should be an option for us to improve on sissoko or winks.

Think we got away with that one.
Penalty given to us was foul by Kane rather than Lallana.
Thought Doherty penalty could/should have been given which would have led to his dismissal also.
In respect of their goal was surprised in 2 respects, 1. They even looked at the foul, as happened in different phase of play, but secondly having seen it, it wasn’t overturned.
Kane’s swan dive to try and gain a penalty was an embarrassment also.
