I’m only going to use goals that I was aware of in real time by seeing live or highlight of shortly after, otherwise there’s about 30 years worth of goals on vhs that my dad takes my eyelids open I’m front of when I was a child.

  1. Ginola v Barnsley - told you everything you need to know about what a left winger should be capable of.
  2. Bale 3rd v Inter away - being there to see it in the goal in front of me made it all the more special, my first away day in Europe too, but that was the crescendo reached after a 10 months of him bubbling away from almost being loaned to Forest to becoming the most exciting talent at the club (and still not near his peak). We were witnessing the transition from potential to class almost in the turn of a page.
  3. Kane v Arsenal in early 2016... even sullied by the Sanchez equaliser quickly afterwards, the euphoria at seeing our homegrown star striker score from an outrageous angle and distance against our biggest rivals solidified this near the top.
  4. Woodgate v Chelsea 2008 league cup final - seeing at that point our most enjoyable (and best) team in my lifetime finally win a trophy, and to do so in such dramatic fashion, will always be in with my most cherished Spurs moments.
  5. Lucas v Ajax/ Crouch v Manchester City... can’t split these two, the emotion they both created and the explosion of joy following matches that were so tense I can’t describe, each the culmination of a few consecutive seasons where we were trying to take the next step. The goal that bumps these two down will be the one that wins us the league.

Was the Ginola one in the same game that Darren Anderton scored a very similar goal? Can vaguely remember them both scoring lovely goals in a cup game.

One completely random one that never got enough applause was Siggy's goal vs Hull in the cup. One of the most purely struck half volleys I've ever seen, and the skill to set it up was excellent too. Not sure it makes my top 5, but it's up there and NEVER gets mentioned as one of the best goals we've scored in the past 10-15 years.

Vertonghen's reaction afterwards says it all, he usually is as nonemotional as it gets but even he was in shock.

A combination of emotion and just goals that stand out, I'd go for (in no particular order):

- Lucas' hat-trick goal against Ajax
- Kane's goal against Arsenal when he rips his mask off in celebration
- Lennon's equaliser in the 4-4
- Dele vs Palace
- Not sure who against but Robbie Keane outside of the foot on the half volley into the far corner (like 03/04 maybe, think vs. Leeds or Everton but can't find a clip)

kane v the arse ( in the mask) put us 2-1 up? crowd exploded!

My mate's family had a spare ticket so I went along with them - we'd all had a few drinks beforehand so it's a bit blurry but I maintain to this day that his mum tried to make out with me in the melée when that goal went in.

For me its this one, Son vs Burnley, Bale vs West Ham, Eriksen vs Chelsea, Dele vs Palace.

Maybe? idk so hard to remember.

Son's scissor kick vs Swansea was an incredible goal, plus his vs West ham & Chelsea. Hard to choose.

Not in any particular order but here we go;

Gazza vs Arsenal 91 FA Cup
Son vs Burnley
Dele vs Crystal Palace
Harry Kane vs Arsenal when he bends it around Ospina (facemask edition)
Erik Edman vs Liverpool

There's so many goals to choose from so this is the top 5 that easily comes to mind.

As title. The criteria are yours to decide. Sexy goals, important goals, team goals, individual goals. Up to you.

Mine:

1. Hoddle vs Watford
2. Tanguy vs Sheffield Utd
3. Dele vs Crystal Palace
4. Gazza FK vs Arse
5. Tied between Stalteri vs West Ham for sheer emotion and Crouch vs City for the importance of it

(7-10 would all be Kane or Son goals I think)

Glenn Hoddle chip vs Watford - YouTube
I like this. Great shouts with Stalteri and Crouch important goals, Dele's against Palace was class.

Mine:
1. Lucas vs Ajax - that goal brought me to tears knowing i'd be able to go to the CL final with my old man, the comeback as well just incredible feeling (still want him sold though haha) ;)
2. VDV vs Arsenal at WHL - for his passion when celebrating it, again can't beat that feeling
3. Defoe vs Portsmouth - great goal on his debut and one of my fave ever Spurs players, so buzzing when we signed him and when he scored
4. Berbatov touch and volley vs Reading, the match he scored 4 - sublime
5. Aaron Lennon vs Chelsea at WHL to beat them 2-1 for the first time in so many years (atmosphere when he scored will mabye never be beaten for me, absolutely electric)
6. Robbie Keane's goal away at Highbury (just for his celebration when he stood still in front of us arms up, Wenger was fuming, Jol was beating Wenger up, it felt like the tide was turning that we were starting to close in on Arsenal, I loved Robbie Keane, so whilst not a spectacular goal the feeling after it was awesome, we drew that match 1-1 but that goal always sticks in my mind)

Was at all of these matches so that influenced a lot of them.

A few stunning goals to mention : Modric screamer vs Liverpool, Erik Edman vs Liverpool, Bentley vs Arsenal (half-way line), Bale vs Stoke & his goal vs West Ham away but for me its more about the feeling around the goal, the meaning and importance of them.

Great picks mate. Forgot about that Ginola v Barnsley goal that was epic.

Just doing 3...

1. That Ricky Villa goal vs City to win the FA Cup
2. Glenn Hoddle vs Forest, the ball didn’t even tough the ground!
3. Gazza Free Kick vs Arsenal to put us into the final...

There are so many others, Crouch to put us into the CL for the first time, Woodgate to win us a League Cup final vs the blue scum... but those three define my Tottenham Hotspur.

Lucas vs Ajax
Son vs Chelsea (at Wembley where he beat about three or four players)
Kane vs Arsenal (the one where he’s wearing the mask)
Nielsen vs Leicester in the Worthington cup final

Absolute stunner.

This one from Eriksen was incredible as well (40 seconds in):
