Who would have thunk it?!

Two weeks ago we were all in shock as Robbie received a very harsh red card, and then saw his appeal turned down. Many of us thought this was awful news, our top scorer to miss 3 games, games which we must win. A few members voiced an opinion that maybe the team would be more balanced without Keane, and suffered an onslaught from the pro-Keane gang.

Two games into Robbie's absence, and we have 6 points. Our first away win in the league, and he first time we have won consecutive league games since early May, and against two of the surprise packages of the season so far.

So I pose the question, are we infact more balanced without Keane in the side?

no, I actually believe it is not related, in fact I believe the sending off of Robbie served as motivation for are wins, but time will tell whether you are right or wrong

Robbie will start against the goons next week, of that I'm reasonably confident.

Didn't see the game today, but by all accounts Bent didn't pull up any trees, neither did he last weekend.

JD did well when he came on last weekend, and from what I have read/heard did much the same today.

Think the credit for the last two results should go to the defence, midfield and coaching staff, rather than those that have come in for Keane. For that reason I think Keane will start as soon as he becomes available.

Huh?

If anything, these two games have shown us just how much we miss Robbie Keane. Bent has been lost and has failed to form an understanding with Berbatov. Defoe has on the other hand been lively. But our attack is much better with Keane in the side, especially since he and Berbatov are great partners in attack.

He will walk straight into the team, with his 12 goals on his back.

No.

But you say 2 of the surprise packages, well when you look at it. Man City have been awful this season away from home and were missing one of their best players in Elano and Portsmouth have struggled to score goals this season at home and it is their away form that has put them up the table.

Looking closely at rather than a surface look at the teams we played show that the results ain't that surprising.

Yeah, you're right it must be down to the fact those teams actually are poor, yeah.

The stats show that without Keane we're on our best run of the season.

To your question Nic, its a no.

We can look just a balaced team with Keane in there, i just think we look better with one striker who will link the midfeild and surport the other striker, and one striker to strech the defence.

Is Keane suspended for the Man City game or the Arsenal game?

And the stats show that Keane is our top goal scorer and up there for top scorer in the premier league.

Thats the trouble with stats, they can be used to prove just about anything you want.

Maybe a stat on goals conceded with Zokora as centre back could theoretically spell the end for Daws.

A stat on O'Hara's contribution could spell the end for Malbranque.

Portsmouth have played 8 at home drawing 5 scoring 11 goals (But one of the games they scored 7) and hadn't scored in their last 3 matches at home. Now 4 games after our match.

Man City have a worse away record than us and I think that says it all really.

Man City as far as i'm aware. He'll be straight back in once he's fit, i'm sure. But I do think it's more than just a coincidence that we have 6 points from the last 2 games and that Keano hasn't played.

not really, because the person that has replaced him has done stuff all in those games

run? what, two games?

the stats also show keane as our top goalscorer.

do you seriously think we won man city and p'mouth because robbie keane was unavailable?

I'm really just trying to wind you all up. Everyone thinks Keane is the dogs bollocks, but the two games he's missed we have won, when people thought we'd struggle.

No need for Ledley King then either? Give your head a good shake.

I think there is definitely a way back for Keano and really he should come straight back into the team.

Bent has done nothing to contribute to these 2 wins so that puts that theory out of the window - Defoe, well I ain't a fan meself but he came off the bench and scored last week so he has made a contribution. Although saying that I don't feel he should be a long-term starter over Keane.

That said we'll never know as Keano could've blagged a couple in the past few matches and he was THE BEST PLAYER AGAINST BIRMINGHAM, AARRRGGGGHHHH WHY ARE THERE ALWAYS THREADS SLAGGING OFF KEANO???

Ludicrous...
