We just look a far more solid side when we keep the ball and play through midfield. Solid performance. End of season type game but players put in a shift and some confidence is starting to come back into our play.

I know it’s been a poor season overall but despite that we’re not far of qualifying for the champions league. Still got a half decent squad. If we can get some confidence back in the side and get two new centre backs in I think we do ok next year. Add Skipp and Sess to the squad for some much needed squad freshness too. Think of Lo Celso stays fit that be a massive help. His missed 3/4 of the season. Worried that it’s going to be Lamela MK2. Great talent with obvious qualities but injuries holding him back.

Maybe for Wolves but the purpose of man of the match is to award a player who has either been decisive or had a big impact on the game.

Coady's Wolves conceded two goals. Therefore, despite playing well, he failed to have a significant impact on the game.
Is it? I thought it was the best performance, the player who contributed most to his team and the game, the best player. Did he have an impact? I'd say he kept the score down to two almost singlehandedly.

I’d say 13 clearances is a pretty significant impact on the game, personally.
Significant impact on the result.

Wolves still lost by two clear goals. Tottenham had more impact on that.

I dont see 13 clearances as a significant impact either. If you're set in a low block that number is easier to keep up but its nothing remarkable.

If Wolves had have got a point or sneaked a win, id 100% agree with you.

Buy its very rare for the losing player to get motm particularly when he didn't score or assist. Genuinely can't think that has happened before ever

That was pretty enjoyable all round. We’ve got great attacking in the team, just a shame we’ve got such poor centre backs.

Three wins when opposition sat back and we dominated.
Two defeats when the opposition went for us.
Enjoyed today, but not kidding myself of the major rebuild required.

It feels like that front four actually worked out today how to play together - last week they were tripping over each other, but today I thought saw clear evidence that they're adjusting. Bale seemed to be playing a bit higher, and Son a bit wider to give Dele and Kane space in through the middle and there was much better fluidity and understanding.

PEH had a solid game.

Coady had a better one.

This isn’t complicated, you’re just looking for an excuse to be upset.

Hojbjerg had a solid game, and had a goal and assist.

Coady kept the score down. Could have gone to either, but you normally see the MOTM go to the winning team

I personally, would have given Hojbjerg Mom but can completely understand why Neville (a defender) went for Coady.
He made 2 goal line clearances is the space of a few seconds and without him, it could've been a cricket score.
Certainly not something to piss and moan about "anti-spurs bias", ffs.

True which is why Neville agonised over his decision, I guess Coady just impressed him more than any other player.

like that Ryan picked a best XI more or less and is giving them a run.

Sorry but I thought Son and Dele kept getting in one another’s way.

Definitely positive, we just simply weren't controlling games like this under Jose (or very rarely) irrespective of the opponent. Got away with it at the back a few times and although the team needs a lot of work, there is potential there amongst a selection of the players and you can at least see a bit of that when the shackles are off.

Good to see that winning a game fairly comfortably isn't enough to stop our fans complaining!

Do people really care who Gary Neville awards the MotM to?
