Come on, guys, stop clogging this thread with your drivel when it's so close to deadline day. It's so frustrating coming to see so many new posts and it's all unrelated rubbish.

We were top of the league at one point last season and still ended up in seventh place, and it also looks like the internationals will have a negative impact on the squad. We need players.
No, that sounds like we need consistency. The squad seems to be good if it can get us to the top of the league.

Of which this post added to it.
….and my one…..
….and any others pointing my one out!!

it’s just the inevitable nervous chatter after months of hope and optimism coming down to a single day.

Jules is not happening! Was only option with Sanchez involved. And as I said before season started, he refused, and wanted to prove himself. Serge is proving tricky, and might end up staying to compete for RB, when fit enough. This May impact our pursuit of Tomiyasu; which was loan with option, which Bologna refused. Traoré update I have, but will wait until later before I post. Let’s just say today is the telling day with that one.
Thanks for the update.

Starting to look familiar: issues with dead wood, too little too late for one of our key targets, the so called non-Kane money might not be enough to even push through a reasonably modest purchase like Tomiyasu.

I’ll happily roll in squirrel piss if I’m wrong, but there’s a sense the optimism from a few days ago is dissipating by the hour

How do you get enough squirrel piss to roll in? Asking for a friend…

I love the look of him but he played for the first time in the Prem this season and got 4 minutes. He replaced Lamela who was also a valuable squad player. Gil is not yet a quality first team player, and Gollini is a back up keeper. Romero is the only significant upgrade we've made.

Anyway, not for this thread so will just have fingers crossed Herc's update on Adama later is positive!

Can we please avoid any debates in here. Especially ones where we people don’t seem to understand the basics like what the definition of “first team” is.

Fair enough, apologies - should have said nailed on starter rather than first team
Was discussing on the back of Herc's ITK but yeah just fingers crossed we get some positive news later today!

Would rather sell Doherty than Aurier especially if it meant getting Tomyasu in, with Tomyasu being able to cover multiple positions.

If we get players in - great

If we don’t - fine (9pts from 3 games)

If we manage to get some outgoings - great

If we don’t - fine, I hope they contribute if and when needed.

Some people just want to clog the thread with their complaining.
The 9 points from 3 games argument is the worst thing the club or any fan can use ! That shouldn’t change transfer plans in the slightest. We can easily go and lose the next 3 or Kane can get injured and we are short etc etc. Transfer planning shouldn’t revolve around short term results in the pitch ?

So disappointing that we don’t look like getting Tomiyasu. Think we will regret that one.

Sounds like it’s the same old same old despite the early optimism and all the talk of things being different this time. Really looks like we just haven’t got the money to do deals and we are relying on clubs being willing to give us their players on the promise of getting money later down the line.

Reckon it’s Traore or nothing from here on in, which leaves us short in a number of key positions either way. No back up striker, no creator, only one reinforcement in defence. What a let down.

It’s no more trite than “x might get injured”.

My point was that we have a decent squad. All squads can be improved, but ours isn’t as bad as some make out.

top of the league, signed two of the brightest young talents in Europe. The defender of the season in Serie A last year and a long term successor to Hugo as well as keeping the best striker in the world and having a manager who is getting the best out of the squad rather than the worst. I would love Adama and a creative CM but i'm not going to panic if we don't and we are absolutely not in a position to panic buy for the sake of it and end up with another Sissoko for 5 years before we can shift them finally for peanuts. Its ok to be disappointed if we don't sign anyone else but there is really a lot to be positive about at the moment rather than venting rage and panic.
