None of those players did anything wrong today. In fact both Winks and Doherty were crucial in goals which should have been allowed to stand. The fact that we’re relying on the likes of Winks / Dele / Doherty, tells you all you need to know about our squad depth
Mate it’s fine all semantics, he did well today just don’t think he’s good enough.I haven't seen their left foot ability so I may be wrong. But Doherty gave us more than most today. Got into the box, had a few chances and released Lucas and Bryan for two good chances.
Maybe just me but I thought it was one of his better games all told.
We are 7 unbeaten, I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. I do agree with the points you make but we need to be realistic. I trust Antonio will sort it out.I agree that Saints deserved credit for their start, but that doesn't mean that we weren't doing certain things well either. It has nothing to do with feeling entitled to win, that's a reply you can give after every loss but it doesn't mean that you can't pick out things we should have been doing better regardless.
I absolutely agree in that it's nothing to be worried about in the grand scheme of things at all, I said exactly what you've just said a few days ago and I don't think anyone is denying that, but in just the analysing of this match in isolation, I'm not going to act like it's not disappointing to fail to come away with a win off the back of 4 wins out of 5 in the league and after playing a whole half against 10 men, irrespective of the last two seasons.
Yeah it's definitely not good enough. Thing is some of our best performing players are the worst culprits in terms of being comfortable on the ball, like Son and Lucas.
Too many players are too comfortable in losing possession also. Dier today gave the ball away so many times in playing out from the back.
Yes, agree it was the right move. I also think Doherty were decent, but he didnt provide the width that could have opened more space.
I guess one thing I learned today, if Davies is going to play that left centre back roll we need another left back/wingback.
Another thought if Doherty is playing Left Wingback and you swap your Right Wingback for Gil wouldn't it have perhaps been an idea to swap Doherty to the right where he's most comfortable and play Gil on his natural left side?
I agree, but let's see what happens in the transfer window. Unfortunately, our two, supposedly most creative midfielders in GLC and TN ain't getting a look in or are unavailable. We have to sort that area out first. The PEH, Winks, Alli combo wasn't really working at all. Oliver Skipp, who was rotated today, was really missed imo. I'd have preferred to see him in the line up today in place of PEH.The technical ability in our team is so far below what it should be. We need creative players who are comfortable on the ball. Shame we aren’t looking at any it seems.
Where's Ndombele's player watch thread @Rob @Archibald&Crooks?
What he actually said was "We've got to keep things in perspective. Everyone can see the progression. Except on SC where they are all having a bundle and giving eachother dead legs"Record breaker
It may only have been a draw today against 10-man Southampton but Antonio Conte (7, W4-D3-L0) is the first Spurs manager to remain unbeaten in his first seven league matches as manager of the club.
Which ties in nicely with what Dier said...
"We've got to keep things in perspective. Everyone can see the progression."
I’d go for Gravenberch, he can do it all and has a goal in him. If we sign an attacking player I’d also raid Ajax for AnthonyNot sure about that strategy mate, I agree it’s a weakness but also the lack of any other players who can put the ball in the net aside from Kane, Son and occasionally Lucas is also a massive issue.
