Unless I'm missing something here, this from Val isn't a quote from the club is it?

You're both reacting like this was an intentional briefing or statement from the club, but unless I'm mistaken seems to be the ITK's choice of words.
You are correct, it's not a quote directly from the club. Everyone has an agenda and a point of view though and whoever the source of this information is wants rid of some players and is painting them as villians to facilitate their agenda.

Again - whoever is framing the players as the villains isn't clear.

That's your assumed interpretation.

Unless the ITK is says "the club's view is that" then personally I would always assume it's the ITK's point of view on the information that's being passed on.

In VY's case it's very clear he briefs on the club's agenda. I've seen it from him so many times and when most itk's are coming out saying the same it's obvious the club is briefing.

Do you think when Poch said we would need a painful rebuild he meant selling off 100m of the talent we used on a rebuild to rebuild? Haha.

And to be fair to me, I didn't say that it was the view of the club.

The sell to buy vibes are worrying, serious deja vu unfortunately.

If we start getting the ‘it’s difficult’ line after Traore is done, it will not end well as regards AC.

I hope we can get Kessie and one more on board as ITK has alluded to. Let’s see.

Traore/Kessie & someone with a bit of guile/vision/creativity will get us top 4.
Just realised I have described a certain Danish free agent there - no brainer surelyyy!!!

I'm not sure about that. I think you have to take into account that different people at the club will have different interpretations of how things are being done. I think it's the same with D1. Both as far as I'm concerned solid as far as their information is concerned but often with a different slant to how I and others hear things. Doesn't make me right and D1(for instance) wrong or vice versa.

You have to accept that ITK comes from different people with varying knowledge of whats actually going on, and also that sometimes the person providing the info may have an agenda of their own.

Why is it so difficult for people to take ITK at face value, not get stupidly annoyed or excited and just wait and see how it pans out??

Its like there has to be an over reaction to everything.

Chill Winston.

I don't have a detailed knowledge of his posts. But I do know that if I receive second or third hand information from members of my own family it's always somewhat and often wildly and unintentionally distorted.

It's just human nature to put our own interpretation on what is being communicated.

I find it very hard to believe the club hierarchy would use that language about their own players. They're business people, not fans like us responding on forums.

The club are clearly and justifiably unhappy with the commitment and return shown from these players, and have made them available form transfer.

All other whispers and who they are attributed to are just conjecture feeding our own confirmation bias.

I can criticise Levy and the Transfer committee all day long, but prefer it to be based on objective truth or at least an evident likelihood.

It's not even clear to me that the ITK is intended to suggest this is the clubs stance. So we'll agree to disagree.

When people talk about taking ITK far too literally this is what is meant. It’s not a club statement. It’s just a turn of phrase. Whether you are upset by it is up to you but it really doesn’t need anymore interpretation that that.

It’s not a surprise that these players are on a lot of money, particularly when compared to their output. It’s no surprise that we want rid.

why shouldn’t the 8th richest club in the world have to operate within a set budget? In a world where FFP is supposedly a thing why are people so shocked by this?

Firstly because they don’t run businesses so don’t fully understand what these figures mean/entail.

secondly and most importantly…….it’s not their money

Lets say Traore is the first in. Who are nr. 2 & 3. Do we have specific players that we are going for full force? Or is it a pool of 10 players. That when and if the star align we’ll go for?

The two kids we're looking at. The non-league goalie and a certain striker Ollie something. :)

It is just his opinion.

But, the sentiment is quite right ... £400k per week is £20M a year. If we make £1M revenue from each home game then it is all going out of the door to players who are not even going to be in the match day squad.

New Ally Gold video recap:

  • Conte wants Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele out
  • Sevilla are interested in Lo Celso
  • Thinks Lo Celso needs to leave as its now a bit awkward for the club & the player after this weekend
  • Thinks there will need to be compromises from Ndombele & Spurs to get the PSG loan to happen
  • Everton certainly interested in Dele, Newcastle not as sold on a move on Dele but could change if they struggle to bring in players
  • Talks about Conte being very open in press conferences that he needs new players, behind the scenes has been very clear on the state of the team
  • Traore signing is being driven by Paratici, should be wrapped up but still working on option of loan with obligation. Conte happy with the deal
  • Paratici has spoken to McKennie's reps this month but doesn't see a way that Juve would sell him this month. One to keep an eye on this Summer
  • Kessie, sure Spurs would like to bring him in now & Milan would let him go but player probably more looking to the Summer
  • Amrabat - more offered to Spurs than someone they're really interested in. His agent reps alot of spurs players (all the welsh guys) so makes sense why the agent would have come to them
  • Doesn't seem to think Wijnaldum would happen
  • Vlahovic - thinks Spurs could have pushed the boat harder and got him last season. Probably missed out as most of Europe will probably want him this summer.
  • Got to differentiate between a player "offered" to Spurs vs if they're actually after him
  • He gets frustrated that we haven't signed anyone yet. Doesn't think the Traore fee will be any different from what it would have been in the first week of the window so he has no idea why we waited.
  • He also has no idea how you bring in enough replacements to offset the potential leaving of Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Tanganga, Rodon, etc.

To be honest not a ton there we didn't know. For me the most telling part is there's basically no real strong links for incomings outside of Traore.
