New Ally Gold video recap:

  • Conte wants Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele out
  • Sevilla are interested in Lo Celso
  • Thinks Lo Celso needs to leave as its now a bit awkward for the club & the player after this weekend
  • Thinks there will need to be compromises from Ndombele & Spurs to get the PSG loan to happen
  • Everton certainly interested in Dele, Newcastle not as sold on a move on Dele but could change if they struggle to bring in players
  • Talks about Conte being very open in press conferences that he needs new players, behind the scenes has been very clear on the state of the team
  • Traore signing is being driven by Paratici, should be wrapped up but still working on option of loan with obligation. Conte happy with the deal
  • Paratici has spoken to McKennie's reps this month but doesn't see a way that Juve would sell him this month. One to keep an eye on this Summer
  • Kessie, sure Spurs would like to bring him in now & Milan would let him go but player probably more looking to the Summer
  • Amrabat - more offered to Spurs than someone they're really interested in. His agent reps alot of spurs players (all the welsh guys) so makes sense why the agent would have come to them
  • Doesn't seem to think Wijnaldum would happen
  • Vlahovic - thinks Spurs could have pushed the boat harder and got him last season. Probably missed out as most of Europe will probably want him this summer.
  • Got to differentiate between a player "offered" to Spurs vs if they're actually after him
  • He gets frustrated that we haven't signed anyone yet. Doesn't think the Traore fee will be any different from what it would have been in the first week of the window so he has no idea why we waited.
  • He also has no idea how you bring in enough replacements to offset the potential leaving of Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Tanganga, Rodon, etc.

To be honest not a ton there we didn't know. For me the most telling part is there's basically no real strong links for incomings outside of Traore.

have to be hopefully that we have surprises up our sleeve in terms of players coming in. Information that is not out yet.

Thanks for that recap. I reckon we get Traore and that'll be it incoming wise.

And also why we didn't move to bring Traore in earlier...I still don't get that as I doubt it will of moved the price/terms one iota.

Exactly what he says... frustrating as he could have been helpful in the past month.

Well if that is the case then how can we let Ndombele, dele and lo celso go! Did u see our bench on Sunday? The squad would be seriously threadbare. Leaving us with just winks Hojberg and skipp as central midfielders ??‍♂️

Wolves might have wanted to keep him until the break for squad numbers.

We have heard the same for our players. Nothing before the last weekend.

Not like some clubs loaning players out and asking for postponement...

After this weekend, Lo Celso has to go. As does Ndombele. No way back for either. Dele would probably stay if we can’t get anyone in.

Yeah I thought of that...just didn't look like that strong a possibility given that he didn't even start against Brentford.

I made this point and was scoffed at, implying I didn't understand 'negotiation'

Bollox - it's been £20m all along. It's been plastered everywhere. We could have really used him last night

I'm not sure about that. I think you have to take into account that different people at the club will have different interpretations of how things are being done. I think it's the same with D1. Both as far as I'm concerned solid as far as their information is concerned but often with a different slant to how I and others hear things. Doesn't make me right and D1(for instance) wrong or vice versa.

You have to accept that ITK comes from different people with varying knowledge of whats actually going on, and also that sometimes the person providing the info may have an agenda of their own.
Agreed. Val is not ‘club led’. He’s been mightily aggrieved in the past when his info was put in the ‘read only’ thread as that hits Twitter; meaning his source is compromised etc

Doesn't matter if it is in the read only or just the regular forum. It'll hit Twitter either way. The only way to stop that is not post.

have to be hopefully that we have surprises up our sleeve in terms of players coming in. Information that is not out yet.

Also concerned as it does seem a lot of our targets are Summer deals. No real rumours of incomings other than Traore.

We have to remember the Gil and Sarr deals came from nowhere in the summer. Hopefully we have a few players lined up but I struggle to see us doing anything other than Traore due to the additional difficulty of a January window.

The positive side of things is we clearly have interest in a lot of players we would like to leave. If those deals happen we should be in a much better position to bring other players in.

Hardly an exciting update. Ally pretty down overall with transfer dealings but admits it can all be chalked up to the January window. Says this has got to be one of the least active windows ever for all clubs.

Yeah I’m pretty sure the ITKs don’t post targets not already in the press. So could be loads we don’t know about.

To be fair it is being reported that the deal will be structured as a loan with obligation. Wolves were initially reported to be reluctant to accept those terms, so it stands to reason that they would not have accepted them when the window first opened.

If the structure of the deal buys us some breathing room to be able to get other business done then perhaps we’ll look back on it and say that the delay was worthwhile. If Traore is the only signing we make it will be massively frustrating.

It all comes down to the state of the squad as of the close of the window. I’ll withhold judgment until then.
