According to JJ we know exactly who we want for RWB but cant get them until the Summer. It's a rebuild that Conte himself said can't be done in one window. Better to wait until the Summer and get the right pieces for the jigsaw surely.
Will the player still come to us if we are not in Europe?

Trix, will that RWB come irrespective of what European comp we’re in?

We're absolutely desperate for Skipp to return. Hojbjerg and Winks are lightyears off the required level. Is there any indicaiton as to how long Skipp will be unavailable?

I believe Conte said two weeks, but expected him back at training in seven/ten days.

What on earth has happened to Hojbjerg? I loved his all action style when he first came in but it masked his huge limitations as a footballer. The only pass he seems to be able to play is the 5 yard one back to the person who passed it to him. He might be ok in a 3 (which I think we should be playing, personally) but he gives nothing in a 2. Skipp can already do what he does, and more, in my opinion. We’ve missed Skipp and we desperately need at least one more CM
Højberg is Wilson Palacios 2.0 - what we needed at the time and we were enamoured with his aggressive style, but pretty quickly it’s obvious he’s not good enough on the ball

We're so weak at fullback. It so vital for a Conte team to have contributing wingbacks and outside of Reguilón - who can also be inconsistent - we have no one who can offers enough offensively. Even Doherty could offer more offence than Royal who just can't seem to cross.

Granted we conceded 23 shots and that is terrible, but our fullbacks need to start contributing more to our attacking play.
I think Reggie does but his final ball / attempt at goal is usually disappointing and needs improvement. He seems to lack composure and gets flustered and doesn’t take enough care. Compare that to someone like Marcos Alonso (a prick but very clinical).

It's a high risk/high reward strategy. Let's not forget that this Southampton side have had 8-9 put past them in recent years
Of course but this is a similar system City, Liverpool, Ajax etc play. Southampton players on paper are not as good as us so it’s not surprising they had their issues. I’m not saying I want him to be our manager, I’m just saying I prefer that style of football. Just personal preference and why I wanted Ten Hag in the summer. But again, I rate Conte and think he’s an excellent manager.

Hasenhuttl just said it.
Southampton continued to play their game but you see it when Spurs score, ‘they go back’ ‘they are not as active’

I have never seen a team that has two completely different ways of playing for when we’re level/ahead or losing.

Why do we only play progressive football when we’re behind.
Just play.
Not all out crazy attack.
Just go forwards, press be active.

Fed up of watching us surrender possession and sit back when we’re ahead, at home, and or against a lower side.

Just doesn’t make any sense

We need a coach, but we've got a manager. This one's a better coach than Jose was, but he's still more of a manager than a coach. Week in, week out, we play against weaker squads that play better football than we do, because they are coached better. Unless we somehow get ourselves a squad of superstars, we'd be better off with someone like Potter.

Our team is now 'the Conte effect' versus 'the Spurs effect'.

They are constantly vying for supremacy.

Today Spurs won.

Hate the phrase, but that performance was so spursy, bentacur has to start next game ahead of pierre

Agree. Romero was average. Anyone saying otherwise is just not being objective and actually watching the performance rather than going off the hype. Not saying he isn’t good, just that was a nothing performance.
Absolute rubbish. Romero is a class above all our defenders. His composure, passing, stepping out aggressively is leaps and bounds better than everyone else.

Love the match threads when we lose, reminds me of the "Lets all laugh about ----- " threads we have when we take the piss out of other fans when they freak out and call all their players shit after a loss.

If you watched the game it's clear where we went wrong I cba to point it all out as i've had a few but getting a bit annoying how some of you flit between loving players when they have a good game and calling them out as shit when they have a bad game. Gets boring

I reckon a few players will be lucky to get starts going forward and I can see that being the end of the 343 because our midfielders can't handle it in the 2.

I hope so.

If we want to try it with Bentancur and Skipp it may see better results but otherwise I want to see three in there. Too often teams control the proceedings against us.

We've been needing to be much better on the ball for about 3 years now. It's so draining.

Fully deserved to lose. This level of football does not allow for those kind of performances. We say it time and again, we have simply too many poor players

And Dier. These 2 would gladly replace Sanchez and Winks/Hojbjerg.

Emerson is "irreplaceable" unfortunately. Doherty can be just as bad. Very sad situation at RWB..

I really hope Lucas can play there instead. That frees up a slot for Bergwijn or Kulu too.
I thought Kulu was supposed to be able to play RWB. Can’t be worse than Royal.
