Unsure what part you’re asking about.

But the rumoured player is in another country training, been pictured.

And Paul O keefe along with other reputable journalists saying it’s definitely not a Tottenham player

What other journalists out of interest?

When does the suspects names become public information in cases like this in England? Where I’m from it’s when/if the suspect gets detained by a prosecutor. Then it becomes a public document by the government even if it’s a celebrity

Here's my take on it, if it's one of ours and FOUND GUILTY I want them released, no if and or buts, i'd hope for the same response from every other club. This is too serious of a thing to just let slide.
If they’re found guilty, they will be banged up for a considerable term. So the contract will automatically be annulled.

We have asked a few time not to speculate or start guessing names (and that's all it is at this point)

If people keep putting up names you will just get a ban.

It’s usually only confirmed once a suspect has been charged. But it’ll likely get out before then.

Just to say we do take this sort of thing far more seriously than other "rule" breaking. There's a big difference to breaking rules on the site and making posts that could land you/us in legal trouble. I've already banned people because of their posts in this thread (and it won't be up for debate). Please don't make us ban more.

Thanks for clarification - I just posted one (wasnt sure & deleted it now). Its better to lock this thread until a name comes out in media

I was wondering the same. What is the standard to arrest someone in the UK? Being in the US anytime you are arrested for a felony and booked into jail, that information including name/photo is immediately public record. But you also need enough evidence for an arrest warrant. Maybe in the UK the arrest is more of a "we need to ask you some questions" thing?

Seems like really irresponsible reporting by the Telegraph. This was always, inevitably, going to generate speculation - which means innocent names getting dragged through the mud.

And where's the public interest in saying that one of ~fifteen men might be a rapist?

They all did the same with Sigurdsson tbh, they did everything but name him., as if they were all competing with each other to see who get closest to the line.

Urgh, hate these guessing games where people lives and reputations are dragged through the mud just because their age is close.

There are a lot of late 20’s premier league footballers who play in London so don’t start spreading random names based on no more than a DoB

Seemed even worse that one, I recall a headline about the arrest next to another footballers photo who had nothing to do with the incident.

Had a look on twitter. First time actually 'using' it for something like this.

What a horrible cesspit that names can just be mentioned with people defamed with zero regard for the impact.

Yeh it’s disgusting how the media handle it.
Basically give you everything about the bloke but then say “we can’t name”
