This is where I’m torn, the majority of these players were there last season. I was expecting an influx of players but they haven’t done that (maybe waiting for the hype to die down a bit)

Yeah for sure, unless I’m remembering wrong I don’t think they have spent crazy money to supplement (and add a new manager to) the squad they already had pre-takeover and for that i can’t help but feel they deserve credit for the turnaround in form and playing style. To illustrate what I mean, Mike Ashley could have easily done the same thing as he wouldn’t have had to dig deep into his pockets.

I thought this was the case last season too bar the three that went down, and if anything the levels of the teams you expect to be 7th to 16th is even better this season.

The PL has become the Super League. All the clubs have so much money now and most are spending it pretty well.
I think it was to going to happen eventually.

With the money clubs like even West Ham or Brighton have due to TV rights, it was a matter of time before they'd learnt how to spend it properly.

Newcastle have learnt by what came before them.

I think the Italian who suggested the Super League without English teams is having a laugh if he thinks he can go up against the PL.

The reason why it is so watched is because of the rivalries, fans, intensity and speed of the game.

They won't be able to replicate that and eventually you will get a top 6 against the rest but without that level of unpredictability

They actually seem to be recruiting fairly well, wisely and slowly.

Pope
Trippier
Botman
Guimares

All decent signings
And in the meantime making sure the club structure is properly in place before opening the wallet big time for players.

I've no doubt they'll be a juggernaut in time.

I bet West Ham fans are pissed off watching this. They just tried to keep the score conservative all match than rather having a go.

That was so close by Haaland
