Dropping Son can’t help to boost his confidence. Did Kane get benched even he didn’t score for handful games last season?
Kane did not get rotated as we did not have a suitable sub then. We have one now so he should be utilised if Son, Kane or anyone else in that position are not delivering the Goods. Son is a big assed Professional, let him find his "confidence" in training. We cannot afford to be sentimental in this cut throat league, or we will be left behind.

I don't buy into this "it's their cup final" school of thought, except of course it is for their neanderthal supporters. I'm sure the team treat it like any other game that they have to win. For them to think this game is more important than any other is insanity. Anyway, fuck them and their supporters, Tottenham for the win

Football fans have this bizarre notion that footballers think as they do. I'd imagine the majority of footballers think of their profession as simply a job. Tottenham players probably hate Arsenal as much as an AA mechanic hates the RAC.

Would be absolutely lovely to batter these twats as they've been due one from us for a while and have largely looked shit so far this season. Obviously unlikely but we could go top tomorrow night, and either way, a win puts us 4-8 points ahead of Chelsea, Pool, United at such an early stage of the season and we've not even clicked yet, and that should be all of the motivation required. Put the squeeze on now and don't look back.

You have to take in the emotion of the fans, it translates to the players.

Also, local lads do care more. Antonio 100% always upped his game against us, so did Nobel, that runs off too.

Don’t say Kane doesn’t have an extra gear when we are playing Arsenal or Chelsea.

But in the main you are right, not sure Scamacca really gives 2 shits

Whether you use the cup final analogy or not, their fans view us as their biggest rivals and tomorrow’s fixture as the most important in the calendar.

The atmosphere in the ground has an effect on players - and the fans will be much more up for tomorrow’s game under the lights than their last Sunday afternoon game vs Brighton.

Its not because it is West Ham but I want us to score a shed load of goals and just be clinical and shit. I genuinely hate their fans - just scummy racists like proper racists... ****s.

Nevermind their crowd and dump of a stadium. Just stick this on the wall for our pre-match team talk as a reminder who we are facing:

We have been great from behind under Conte. When we concede early I no longer panic, I just have faith that Conte’s plan and system over 90 minutes will mean that we come back and win.

We also seem to start poorly in the first half, then Conte works it all out snd makes the changes at half time.

I remember a certain young tennis player saying this. Me I prefer us being great upfront.

My worry with this game is if we go behind early.

It's all well and good ceding control of the game to play on the counter and try and limit opportunities, but it'll encourage panic if we go behind and suddenly have to take the game to them.

If they take a Moyes like approach of counterattacking this could be a staring contest for 60 mins before one decides to go for it. ?
For me its not s problem, we come alive when going behind. Against chelsea, we played our best football both times. Pulling games back is s strenght these days not a hindrance. We score late goals, twice now. These days its 90 mins regardless of how we start or concede. WHU will need to be at thier best to win this.

When I worked for Sainsbury’s 20 years ago I still did some shopping in Tesco and positively hated Arsenal more than West Ham.

Can’t see why a few of you think Fulham is the game to rest a few they played well at arse and just beat and in form Brighton we’re not blowing anyone away and likely to be either behind or needing to chase things at HT the way we have been playing. Think we’re short in attacking areas to be able to rotate and keep the quality. Be interesting to see what conte does

I’ll take a scrappy 1-0 all day long.

can’t remember a start of the season when games and points were so critical.

got a few of the big boys coming up, so maximum points needed!
