After that its clear we need something in attack thats different when teams sit deep. Bench looked strangely poor again.

James and Traore are NOT the answer. May aswell use Lucas, even Spence.

Even Malinovsky offers something that little bit different if he comes in with 20/30 to go.
A bit harsh, given they didn't even play?

Would half the bed wetting that’s going on at the minute be as bad if it wasn’t arsenal who are top of the league? If we were 3rd behind city and Liverpool I think people would be much calmer. They’re elevated position is causing chaos in our fan base!

that’s not me saying we’re playing great, just that maybe we’re all overreacting a bit.
There’s honestly nothing more patronising than calling people “bed wetters” just because you don’t agree with their opinion. Especially when what people are saying about our performances isn’t particularly inaccurate.

If our performance tonight came off the back of excellent performances against Forest, Chelsea, Wolves & Soton and people were complaining then fair enough, call them out. But it’s not. We’ve been noticeably bad since Soton and people have every right to voice their concerns.

I'm not usually in the camp to get overly negative, but I am a bit concerned with Sarr suddenly making the bench and seemingly having a role to play.

The kid just isn't ready. He needs a loan out to a team of decent quality, as his Metz loan didn't do him much good. It's a bit of a red flag that our squad depth is still not good enough.

Agree 100% The amount of people happy to waste £10m in the Traore thread makes my head spin. If people think Traore is the answer even as some kind of 6th option, super sub whatever, then we might as well poor petrol on our cash and light a match.

ditto Dan James, Zaha.
I respectfully disagree. Tonight was a classic example of a match crying out for us to place and pace and with penetration, Zaha & Traore give you that option. We played at walking pace and our front 3 look very disjointed at the moment.

I really think, going forward, we can only play one of Royal, Sanchez and Davies. Playing 2 is prohibitive, playing all 3 is depressing

Need to get Lenglet in and acclimated as the LCB, Romero back fit and ideally Spence bled in with the intention of becoming 1st choice RWB. We need as many comfortable, progressive ball players in the side as possible especially if Højberg is going to be a mainstay of the CM (I’m still not convinced he’s good enough on the ball)

Watching a different game to me, the front 3 are not where our problems lie.

Shite second half but I honestly believe had Romero and Bentancur being playing we'd have won that because we'd have gone comfortably 2 up.

West Ham were poor first half and we didn't really take advantage of that.

Bissouma took 45 to settle so you can understand why we had some issues.

But the biggest issue throughout the game was Sanchez, Dier and to an extent Davies.

Romero and Lenglet should help with this because if our CBs could be braver on the ball and actually pick passes out etc, we'd be causing more issues.

Sanchez is a major stumbling block in this respect cause you can just press him or let him have the ball but block of the other passing lanes.

Dier can play too many OTT passes at times. Whereas Davies isn't a great ball carrier even though he had space to do it.

It's not a problem for us defensively but in Conte's system defenders need to be part of the attacking patterns.

I'm not worried cause I believe Bissouma will adapt, Bentancur and Romero will be back. Lenglet will get a chance.

That will help us massively.

But we can't rely on some back up players to help the attacking system.

I wouldn't worry too much he's 5th choice.

One person who seems to be avoiding criticism is lloris. His poor distribution cost us the equaliser. Wayward pass for the throw in.

He kept playing sanchez into trouble.

The problem is the CB's are not fast enough on the ball. It's predictable and sluggish and whilst we obviously want to invite pressure, the passing between Sanchez, Dier, Hugo and Davies is just not snappy enough. THen to boot it long and lose the second ball, it's all very meh and people have a right to criticise our performances right now.

Yes, the results are fine, but I do think we are in desperate need fo another CB and hope Romero is back ASAP so we can habe some forward movement from a CB.

That's as good a front three as you'll find anywhere in the world. If they're looking disjointed, the problem is going to be somewhere in the coaching team.

in this system you need center backs who can either make incisive passes forwrd into the front players or are able to carry the ball forward to link up with the midfielders . With Dier sanchez and Davies we have three players who cant do either of these things. Romero can and we need to give Langlet a chance too.
As for playing tippy tappy at the back and then giving it to Sanchez to hoof upfield that is senseless and Conte is to blame for letting them play like this.

Tbf he on the bench because Bentancur, Lucas and Romero are all injured and Gil is lining up a move. Otherwise he’d be elsewhere. But I agree we do need some more bodies in if possible.

I was really disappointed in him, our Captain and World cup winner gave us a few problems tonight.

We were getting on top before Hojberg and his left boot antics. I know he needed to change it but he seemed to be messing about and deliberately taking his time which is fine if they had the momentum but it was the reverse and worked against us in my opinion…
Agreed, & it was Hojberg following Coucek into the box when he scored.
