You'd think Kulu would come in after 2 games on the bench, but I suspect he had earmarked the City game for him given his performance there last year, with the intention of bringing Richarlison back in for Sporting.

On form Son should definitely be dropped as Rich and Kulu are both performing, but I don't think Conte will do that either.

Bit of a selection conundrum tbh. I wonder if Conte would even consider starting Kulu at RWB to get him into the side if he doesn't want to drop Rich or Son?

I'm really not sure on that last point yet at the same time I wouldn't be surprised as Conte seems to be so reluctant to drop Son. I would certainly have him on the bench on current form, it feels like for him to score as he is he needs a deflected goal or something. Regardless Son off the bench is a great option to have and I don't see the negative myself as Richarlison and Kulusevski are both playing much better than him and Son would still get the chance to grab a goal and raise his confidence as a substitute.

People are justifying playing him so he can 'play his way into form' yet at the same time we've all wanted strong competition for these players places so they can raise their level knowing someone is ready to take their place if they do not. I get persevering with such a player for a set time but we're really approaching the time (if we haven't yet already) that we need to see if someone else can perform to a better standard in his place IMO.

It wouldn't necessarily be dropping him for long, he could come on as a sub against Sporting, score 2 goals and justify a starting place in the next game against Leicester.

Yeah don't think it's very likely he'd play Kulu at RWB, as it also limits our ability to change games from the bench. Just seems like it's hard to justify dropping anyone atm.

The fairest would be to drop Son, as you say. It must be disheartening for Kulu and Rich to keep putting in great performances then see Son starting ahead of them and repeatedly playing rubbish...but then he's also world class at his best and I think Conte knows he needs to get Son scoring for the sake of our season.

V.tricky one.

Yeah I agree, having Kulusevski as an option from the bench if he's not starting is also a big plus really.

We all want Son at his best but I still think he can be on the path to being as such with substitute appearances and with rotation, all whilst we can hopefully be performing better as a side with players who are performing better than him. It may just take a goal to be honest but the thing that's a shame is that it's not like he's performing well but missing chances, if that was the case I think I'd further understand the persistence. Unfortunately it feels like a lot is breaking down when the ball gets to him right now.

We'll see on Tuesday, but it may even get to a point where it might be better to take him out of the firing line for a bit if his poor form continues as the pressure may just build and build.

Even SC is having technical issues with this match! Confused me for a second!

Great opportunity for us to take the outright lead in the group with a win tomorrow. Especially given a weeks rest and a home game on the weekend.

Draw in the other game would be an added bonus!

Hope we’ve shaken off the nerves in last weeks game. That was an excruciating watch.
It depends whether you were watching our sputtering attack or our adamantine defence. Marseille had one threatening shot. Otherwise, they were completely shut out by our defenders.

Sporting CP will be a bigger test than last week. Watching highlights from their recents matches - they look very good and will be a match for us, lets hope its not embarrassing . The match will pan out the same way with us sitting deep. Richarlison should be buzzing, Son is due to score so hope defensively we are solid with no errors. Hope its not a bad day.

Sporting have played 6 English clubs in the CL... Not won one of them.

They also lost all of their 3 home games, not scoring once.

What could go wrong?
