Welcome to the Spurs Vs AC Milan Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

At the very least let’s hope Romero volleys that smug b’stard Giroud in to the stands

Some how despite the disappointments of the last few games, I think we got this.

We do seem capable of turning out big performances on occasion, so not all is lost despite the awful last couple of games.

If AC have anything about them though, they'll turn this into a bogged down battle and try to grind out a nil all.

With the away goals rule out of the way, there is now a higher chance of penalties needing to seperate teams in the Champions League. Doesn't feel like we have a great record in penalty shootouts but maybe we have a reason to be a little more optimistic this season.

Forster is clearly a better penalty keeper compared to Lloris, this is true not only with the eye test but also stats back this up. Forster has a 36% save percentage whereas Hugo has a 16% save percentage according to Transfermarkt.

On the penalty taking side we actually have a surprising amount of regular penalty takers, in fact many of our new signings were the designated penalty taker for their team before moving to Spurs.

1. Kane - Obviously one of the best in the game, but have uncharacteristically missed three penalties for England and Spurs this season.
2. Richarlison - Scored multiple important penalties in the relegation fight last season for Everton.
3. Persic - Took penalties last year for Inter (with his right foot!) including a goal in the Italian Cup Final versus Juventus.
4. Porro - Has taken three penalties for Sporting in the last season and a half with a 100% record.
5. Danjuma - Was the main penalty taker for Villareal and scored 5 out of 6 penalties during his time there.

I hope it doesn't go to penalties. My last train is at 23.30 and it takes about 45/50 mins to get to Paddington

Posted this in the teamsheet thread, but this is where it actually belongs…

Maignan back for them.
Tomori back for them.
Bennacer back for them.
Leao rested/suspended over the weekend.

They’ve got used to Pioli’s new system now and look better with players back, although did lose 2/1 at the weekend to Fiorentina.

So who fucking knows. COYS.

I watch Milan often (My Italian team) and we can definitely win this game even on current form.

But my gut tells me it's anyones game to win.

Proper football weather , see you there for a pie and a bovril ( neck oil )
I wish we did over here what they do in Prague. Grog on sale on most street corners (Rum, hot water, sugar and lemon) sorts you out for the cold :D

Really hoping for a top performance from Kulusevski tonight as I think we're going to need it, not that he's been poor even if he seems to have lost his joie de vivre but mostly he's the only one I have any hope of being a match winner. We're missing Lloris, Bentancur and Bisouma as well as Dier through suspension, I expect Hojbjerg and Skipp in midfield will be competent but won't offer much going forward. I have little expectation that Perisic will contribute more to a result than he has so far this season and absolutely no hope of anything worthwhile from Son so that leaves Harry Kane who we can't expect to do it on his own with nobody helping to create any chances for him worthy of the name which brings me back to Dejan Kulusevski, our best hope for something to lift us above the average.

COYS! please
