For all the Emerson/Sanchez dogpiling it's worrying that the last four goals we've conceded in the league have all come down the other side...

Wonder if that's a turning point for Sessegnon who had been very average until he scored and then played really well until subbed.
The goals came from the right though

Thought Dier at RCB worked well, actually. Provides a solution for not relying on Davinson when Romero is out. Lenglet I liked in the center though Moore at times bullied him. Moore is an outlier for CFs in the Prem these days, most won’t play like that. So a Dier Lenglet Davies combo looks good.

Sessegnon at RWB was a huge improvement on excrement. I hope we see more of that (or Spence).

Bentancur was the best player on the pitch when he came on. Calm for the goal and there was a sequence in the midfield where he megged one player and shimmied away from another two before playing a lovely crossfield pass.

Emerson and Sanchez have to go. They completely unbalance our team, I don't believe other players have any faith in them on the pitch.

Some of Bentancur's play really is sublime.
How many players would've just thrashed at that chance at the end and he calmly just side foot volleyed it into the little space there was

Apologies for my post about Hojbjerg not deserving another contract. I was talking sh1t. I deleted the comment too lol
Deserves another contract, shouldn’t be a starter for us if we want to actually progress though. Good player, not world or even top class though and that’s unfortunately what you need to pack your 11 with to compete to win things

He needs to drop Emerson and imo needs to put Holjberg at the base and Bentancur and Bissouma more advanced.

Sanchez just isn't good enough and weirdly I though Sess played really well on the right.....

Which game were you watching? o_O

Conte made a sub at half-time, then another two in the 58th minute, a fourth in the 63rd minute, and then a fifth in the 84th minute.

That's the point, he made lots of subs today. He usually refuses to.

Imagine what we could do if we had a creative attacking midfielder or two in our team.. I can wish
This is the problem. We play with 8 defenders until substitutes come on. Then all of a sudden no matter who comes on (including Emerson against Sporting) players attack better. This is Conte's tactics in every game this season. The games where nothing happened at all, no subs were made until 88th minute.

Yeah, these two were bad but Davies (yet again...) for example was even worse today by quite some distance for the main part. But he a) nodded one in and b) was on the pitch for the comeback, so all will be forgotten. The left side was even leakier than the right for the first hour of the match.

Really they all need to buck up their ideas, and not just the whipping boys, basically every single player of ours is struggling at the moment.

Annnnd that's what we can't rotate.

The alternatives aren't up to it.

Won’t stop loads of people declaring we can challenge for the league if we happen to have a half decent Jan window though.

I swear that’s part of the problem. A lot of people get too carried away after virtually every transfer window and then when it all goes a bit meh it hits like a ton of bricks.

Not gonna lie, I haven’t really enjoyed watching us play for some time, but we can’t change course yet again because it’s not all going swimmingly.

I reckon if we try to rest a few players to save them for the Marseille game, we could come unstuck, especially if we continue to refuse to break a sweat in the first half as usual.
From page one, you got a crystal ball Spurslove?
Lucky we still had some on the bench.

Wut?

Both goals today came down the left. As did the Almiron goal last Sunday.
No they were created down our left but the goals were scored from our right. Emerson and Sanchez were poor for both goals. Emerson caught upfield and Sanchez came central to leave Moore all alone at the back post for the 1st, then Sanchez loses the flight of the cross and Emerson not strong enough marking Moore for the 2nd.

How the hell are we third then ?
Like I said, when he makes our subs all of a sudden we play better, any player can come on. That doesn't mean they are fighting for him. They are coming on and playing to his tactics.
