What's going on here then? Haye not acknowledging the injury. Was it all fake. Feels somewhat odd.[/QUOTE

Haye had the piss taken out off him for blaming the klitchko defeat on a broken toe

Think Haye was faking it to be honest. He doesn't care about his record anymore, he just wants to spin money by generating interest in a rematch. It's all been a marketing exercise by him. Leg stuff looked fake as fuck to me and it was like he was actually trying to get himself knocked out but Bellew doesn't have it in him to knock out a HW
If that was true he'd be milking it afterwards, not playing it down

I think that is exactly what happened. Haye is a very clever guy.

Completely agree, it's a hollow win really, I'm just not show how much of the media will play into the fact that the injury completely changed the fight. Going on the post match commentary and such they seem to be focusing on the fact that the underdog just pulled off a massive shock, obviously ignoring the actual story of the fight.

Is it fuck. The reason Haye got injured is because he hasnt fought for so long and partied. Which is what Bellew said would happen.

Bellew would have won either way

It's also almost impossible to sell a fight when the fighters are pally pally in the build up etc
Same happens in UFC.
It's all about the promotion

Indeed. In a lot of cases I think there is genuine dislike but both fighters always just seem to run with it for the duration of the build up. Not all fighters are the same, but I actually think for the sake of their performance, a lot of fighters would rather use a bit of dislike in the build up as motivation for better preparation in camp and to just drive them that bit more.

Nah bollocks.

Why would haye fake name injury to get a rematch then act all lovey dovey with Bellew when the very thing that generated the interest in the first place was the hatred between the two.

I was thinking the same at one point. Feigning the limp like Keyser Soze, only to draw him close and land a flurry on Bellew's chin.

Maybe, but you don't know that for sure and neither do I. Same as to whether Bellew would have won. One thing for sure though is that the fight would have been different without the injury.

Because he wants the rematch to be a romantic tickle fight, obviously.

I don't think Haye faked an injury, but i do think the word "achilles" is often used in place of "ankle" - initially it really screwed him up but as time went on he appeared to be working with it a little easier. That sounds exactly like a tweaked ankle that has swollen up enough to brace the injury. Achilles injury does sound much more exciting.

Sure he'll just be seen hobbling around in a medical boot for a few days, for precaution if nothing else.

Tyson said half the battle is just intimidation. Admitted he said some ridiculous things just for effect ( and sometimes just because he was fucked up on coke etc).

Can't remember who it was but he once said he was going to eat another boxers children :LOL:... then after the fight he talks about how much respect he has for him and how lovely he is :D.

Partied?? Are you serious haye looked in great shape. Injuries happen especially to a 35 year old boxer with a long list of previous injuries

Geezer on the radio is blaming Hayes boots. Says they're stupid and don't provide enough support to such a big heavyweight.
