I thought Bale was excellent today, once he got one on one against there defender there was only one winner. Gallas and Kaboul were very solid at the back, i think Gallas has to play every game when fit now if we have any chance of 3rd.

Modric poor again. Wouldn't really mind if he left and we got 40 million plus for that guy. Seriously. Been so so poor for months now, will not let anyone tell me differently. His head is elsewhere, its clear. Complaining all the time, hardly see him do something that makes him 'one of the best' in the league.

Modric was poor. Not a problem. His form has just dipped.

Poor.

I'm 28, and I've seen a fair amount of football in those years. If you think that Modric was "poor", my God you really need to check out some archive footage of us.

Not even close to poor.

Just doing what he does best. Getting the job done quietly, sexily, arrogantly and efficiently.

Who nonchalantly put Bale through when Rafa scored? Oh yeah.

He may have had the odd give-away, but bloody hell he was no way near poor.

Adebayor was the difference today, but I've given MOTM to Bale purely because he's so good to watch.

Swansea hounded our midfield today. Modric did well to create space at all. Give the guy s break

I wouldn't agree Modric was 'poor', but he wasn't great either. Just a middle of the road game from him.

VdV was MOM, different fucking gravy that lad, can tackle as well and has grown into the Right Forward type role that we've played with recently. Genuinely world class and one of the best players I've ever watched play for us.

Kaboul, Parker, Bale, Adebayor (first half) were all excellent. Sandro was good too, but he's up there with Parker in getting wet pants when he gets in the final third.

I think I counted Parker make 3 blocks just with his face alone today, he was immense in defending our backline.

I like what Rodgers has done with Swansea, they were very neat and tidy with the ball, although they overplayed a few times on the edge of their area and made a few errors. There are also the poorest side (worse than us) when it comes to defending set pieces. But they played their part and their 5 minute spell when they scored the equaliser was very impressive.

Special mention to Brad today as well who pulled off an absolute worldy from the impressive Sigurdsson.

To add ratings:

Bradders (USA! USA!! USA!!!) --- 8.5 - this man is ageless, a great save and some solid keeping, no real fault for the goal, just one of those annoying bouncy volleys.

Disco Benny --- 7.5 - could he have done better with the goal? He was all over Routledge like a tramp on chips, not seen him proper 'man-marking' someone before, he was more subdued in the second half from an attacking POV.

Kaboul & Gallas --- 8.5 - I thought both were excellent today, I think they compliment each other perfectly. Although Kaboul would slightly edge it for me over Billy if you pushed me for an answer. Kaboul popped up as both left and right winger today, he's very versatile and he just blocks everything and wins headers. Billy G lucky to not give away a pen - the Swansea chappy obviously a bit naive, and could've easily got a pen if he went down.

Walker --- 8 - the man's a machine. Really good machine. Him and Little Lennon will prove to be a formidable right hand side for us.

Sandro --- 7 - better, but there's still something missing that was there from the end of the last season. Maybe it's simply game time and match fitness. He still thinks he can pass like Rafa though, something if he could do he'd be worth 60 million. Good engine, and he quite clearly loves it here (loved his celebration from the bench).

Parker --- 8.75 - after a bit of a mid-season "meh", he's come on very strongly in the last 2/3 games. I'm so glad he's with us. He literally closed down everything, so much so, I think if Tesco are thinking of building a new supermarket any where, they should send Scott Parker down the High Street to close everything down pre-Tesco arrival. Yeah. Analogies 'n' shit. Tremendous and I desperately want him to score soon.

Modric --- 7.5 - someone called him poor. They are not of this planet. Are these the people that thought Michael Carrick was shit as well? Gets a lot of credit when he does obvious things well, but never seems to pick up the credit for all the ball-winning, little drops of shoulders, little "ticking over" passes that build our momentum. He's a truly wonderful little player that we must keep at all costs. Poor? Fuck me, trying watching a midfield that has Stephen Clemence and Johnnie Jackson in it. If he could shoot (which, given the Liverpool goal this year, the Everton and Burnley goals the other years, he quite clearly can) then we could ask City for another 20 million.

Bale --- 9. Sex wee. Play on the left sir, and you will win us many games. Unstoppable. But without Denzel and a couple of trains. Played passes this week when in previous weeks he's been a Greedy Gertrude. Well done Team GB.

VDV --- 9 - scored his goal without breaking stride. Arrogantly stroking it home, in the same way I stroke my ... anyway. Lovely to have him back. Some lovely touches, flicks and passes. Unlucky not to score earlier with the placed/deflected shot. He's lasting longer now too.

Adebayor --- 8.5 - got the goals his performance deserved. Works tirelessly up and down the channels; both flanks. We'll do well to sign him in the Summer, he's exactly the sort of striker we've needed since Berbatov. Despite protestations from others, I think he's been brilliant for us this season, and has definitely been the step up in the striking department that we've needed. Headers finally too. And a goal from a corner!

Subs were all sexy. Even that Danny Rose.

Harry played the right team in the right way, and an effective Plan B with Lennon on too.

All in all, exactly what we needed given results elsewhere.

It's on.

all played well today but our big players really did the business. swansea play great as a team but they arent great individual players so we needed sandro parker and modric to break up their play and feed bale vdv and ade to use their individual superiority, as one on one or even two they can outclass them and thats what they did.

I'll watch a full re run of the game later on Sky Plus but there were a lot of excellent performances today.

VDV was probably my MOM but for some who are saying Modric was poor, well that's just not correct.

He played quite well and the ball to Bale in the build up for the first with the outside of his boot was exquisite. Frustrating with his shooting and his decision making in and around their box but did well in the central areas of the pitch.

im suprised parker hasnt been rated higher by many - he was everywhere today imo. closed down so many times and many numerous blocks. My MOM followed by Gallas who is a born leader - constantly encouraging others and as soon as they equalised he ran, grabbed the ball and run it back to the half way line.

I liked that. We've benefited massively from having Billy Gallas back.

I love them all but Ade was a beast today. All that running around closing down as well as the strength in holding off defenders and bringing others into the game. And two goals as well. Please please Mr Levy find a way to keep him.:pray::pray::pray::pray:

I think Walker's ratings should be judged on his defensive display more than his attempts in attack., He did a very good job keeping Sinclair quiet. Deserves more than a 6 imo.

I would imagine the "Modric was poor" clowns, are the same fools spouting we could replace him with Joe Allen, was he even playing today?

Good performance from back to front, with a few stand-outs, and wasn't it great to see Aaron back at the end!

COYS!
