We also have Corluka that can slot in, we are supposed to have a squad that has strength and depth, so why the widespread panic?

Corluka and Bassong are absolute GARBAGE!!!!! That's why...

I reckon we will see the signing of Samba this week. Couldn't come sooner IMO.

King (when fit), Gallas (when fit), Kaboul, Samba.

Dawson will have more chances next season when King and Gallas's legs come off for the last time.

Sell Corluka and Bassong to any team we would like to relegate... Use the money to buy Samba and Hoilett.

Team vs Everton:

Friedel
Walker Kaboul Dawson Bae
Lennon Parker Mods Bale
Vdv
Adebayor.

Dawson at 70% is better then Bambi! (Bassong)

70% Bassong is better than pairing Dawson and Kaboul. At least Bassong, when match fit, has at times played well alongside Dawson. Dawson and Kaboul have been plain terrible as partnership as far as I can remember. So against Everton, Bassong and Kaboul for me.

I would play Bassong for this one, at least he has some sharpness. If we are comfortable with half an hour to go (which I doubt) bring on Dawson to get some more minutes into his legs.

So nearly 20 million pounds spent on two garbage players...
I don't think Redknapp thinks so or else he would have surely got rid of them in the summer.

Bassong would have been sold if we agreed a fee for Cahill! IMO Bassong is not fit to wear a spurs shirt. A left footed player who spoons the ball out of play with his left foot.

What the fuck are you talking about? He was fantastic in his first season with us, was then pushed out of the first 11, hasn't had a steady run of games since. It's just not his turn for flavour of the month, thats Kaboul.

I like Bassong.

If he gets a run in the side he's quality. It's when he's just thrown into the mire that he struggles. As said previously, in his first season he was savage.

why do people have to be so disrespectful about some of our players? charlie and bassong are both good players, both have served us well and both were main stays in a side that finished 4th only 18 months ago, yet you come on here and you'd think they'd struggle to get into barnet's reserves.

If Bassong was still at Newcastle right now, playing week in week out he's probably the kind of player we'd be looking at. Just saying.

Kaboul is far more than flavour of the month, he's been gradually reaching his brilliant level since we sold him and he's a top class centre back now. Bassong was never as good as that, but yes he was very good and breezers attack on him is quite ridiculous.

Very true. Both players have played their part in where we are as a club right now, and whilst some of their recent performances have been error-prone, that doesn't mean they have automatically become bad players.

I'm sure if and when they leave, they'll both be successful at their new clubs.

You might not think a player is good enough, but as a supporter you really shouldn't be so disrespectful.

The year we qualified for the Champions League Bassong played a huge part in that success. He hasn't turned sh*t over night.

I think Harry has to take some responsibility in his loss of form. He brought in Gallas last season after Bassong had done so well the season before when he probably thought he had done enough to nail down a place.

I agree with those who say Bassong can be very good when given a run in the team alongside a settled back 4. In his recent performances he's been alongside changing full-backs and usually 'protected' by a much changed midfield.

If he is fully fit (and there is no suggestion he isn't) then I see no reason not to start him alongside Kaboul. Against a rather impotent Everton team hit by injuries to their most experienced players, if Bassong has that much to do then others in the team can't have been doing their jobs right either.

On a side note I've just found out my boss is off on Wednesday afternoon so I smell an early finish and a cheeky pre kick-off pint along the High Road!

Its just lack of games for both of them ! I actually think with regular games they are both very good players, its ludicrous to describe them as garbage !

Corluka doesn't play because he doesn't even try in training and just goes through the motions, so like Gio who does the same hasn't a hope of playing without a catalogue of injuries.

I think Bassong is pretty good, although whether he'll ever reach the heights of Chris Perry or Gary Doherty is debatable.

Don't be knocking Ginger Pele and the Rash...

you know that AC milan wanted Perry (with some thick insoles)
