We expected a breakaway win and got it. Good for Rui Costa as he was forced to sacrifice his GC chances to help Valverde when he was caught out last week.
Froome and Contador having a bit of a barmy again. Contador caused the incident where Froome nearly crashed and refused to help them catch the rest of the pack. Not good sportsmanship but you never expect that from Contador.
Incredible descent from that last climb from Froome today, I didn't think he'd win when he was at the top. Weird thing is that it looked like he was taking it fairly easy when the camera was on him.
Poor old Jean-Christophe Peraud went down pretty hard. Although you've got to be a bit mental to ride with a broken collarbone like that. Of all the stages to do it, too, a mountain time trial in the rain.
Yeah, felt really bad for Peraud when he went down, on the same side that he'd broken the bone on. As I've said before, cyclists are made of incredible stuff, and Peraud had a very realistic chance of a top 10 finish which must've been the only reason he gave it a shot.
Great scenes up Alpe d'Huez now. Van Garderen will hopefully win it but Quintana, Froome and Rodriguez have distanced themselves from the other GC riders.
