With Bentancur out for 3 months unless we sign a CB & CM early doors in January and ideally another attacking player then Ange can work all the miracles in the world but I think 6th will be our limit unfortunately, the squad is just too thin on quality without reinforcements.

It is such a depressing state of affairs right now. All of Ange's and the squads hard work has literally been kicked away from them. You expect injuries and of course we should have signed an extra CB in the Summer. But to be this depleted not even half way into the season is crushing. Due to the injuries we could well finish outside of the top 7 again.

All of our momentum has been ripped away from us in such unfortunate circumstances.
Also thank god we have no European football, imagine the squad ravaged like this playing twice a week 🤣 my days.

I do worry that December might be a complete whitewash for us.

But I'm sure Ange and whoever is left walking will at least go for the points and that'll be more fun to watch than Conte-anti-ball.

We need serious reinforcements in January though...and I think we all know how that normally turns out.

The one positive is that December is not too bad, on paper. City away aside (but over nice and early) and Newcastle (who also have a fair few injuries). Four home games for the fans to get right behind the lads again.

Man Utd doing us no favours in getting the possible 5th champ lge place. They might not even get the Europa . England need to be in the top 2 of countries this season to get the extra place. We are currently 4th behind the usual suspects Germany, Spain and Italy. If our Europa lge and conference teams keep going as they should we won’t be far away. Unfortunately the likes of Arsenal will need to keep progressing , but obviously not win it.

After last night we are second behind the Germans . We have probably 5 group winners which will give 5 bonus points to each after last batch of games. Looking good for 5 champ lge places.

A whitewash in the sense that we beat all our opponents?

Why are so many so down beat about our chances?

Because players look exhausted and we don’t have the squad to carry any more injuries, we look significantly worse when the linkes of skipp, hojberg etc come in.

I think the City fixture and the fact we’re lost our last 3 is skewing peoples reality.

As you say, no reason why December should be a ‘whitewash’.

We could get something against City, stranger things have happened and if not then West Ham & Newcastle both at home are nothing to be afraid of, then we have forest and Everton both very winnable.

Romero will also be back.

It’ll be a tough December with our injuries and suspensions but keep playing like we have been and take our chances and we will be absolutely fine.

Always though the first loss would be the key to how our season pans out, it's how we respond. Unfortunately we need to end this slump and the next 3 look tough games on paper when we have half our squad out injured.

If we can somehow get 5/6 points from the next 3, I think our form will come back again and we will start winning games again, if we can't get a win in the next 3 though....it's going to be a very tough christmas period.

Because we're going into a run of 7 games in less than a month off the back of 3 poor results (if not performances) with a threadbare squad that is falling like flies every day.

I think it's realistic to expect a pretty bumpy month.

It's also a defence or coping mechanism for some people. Lose it's "well it is what I expected".

Personally I would be surprised if we get anything from City. They just have the attacking quality and although they seem a little fragile at the back as well, I can't see us scoring more than we concede. I honestly think we'll then go on a bit of a winning run, simply because of how we have been playing in terms of our performances. Every game we have lost you can look back and think we could have won had we put our chances away. It's not like we are getting turned over and look shite

After city we have 3 home games & forest away in our next 4. With Romero back and maybe sarr & richy, hopefully we can get back on track in this period. Any other players we might get back this side of Xmas?

Think we'll nab 9 points before Jan, putting us on 35 points from 19 games.

Which is alright - would have got you 5th last season if carrying on the same PPG for the second half of the season.

The concern is that, with the AFCON and AFC, we are likely to have a threadbare squad right through to February at least.

Thats really only 3 games - @Man United, Brentford, @Everton

Home to Brentford and away to Everton are both games we can win - even with players missing.

When people said we are gonna lose 4 in 4, most thought the same. "It can't be that bad". But it is
