Looking at the table and how other sides are looking, it's gutting us having a season derailed by injury.

Big Ange's mighty Spurs are back after giving everyone a 3 game losing streak to catchup.

So, another season out of Europe coming up? Any glimmer of optimism from the City result for the next month has completely evaporated and we'll be well out of touch by the time the likes of Maddison, VdV and Bentancur come back.

Seven league matches between now and the end of January...

Newcastle (H)
Forest (A)
Everton (H)
Brighton (A)
Bournemouth (H)
United (A)
Brentford (H)

Throw in the FA Cup 3rd round match at home against Burnley at the start of January (and, if we somehow win that with whatever young 11 we can put out, a 4th round match later in the month) and not forgetting that we lose Biss, Sarr and Sonny for most if not all of January... it's going to be a grim couple of months, in terms of results. I made a similar post after the Chelsea match but I never imagined it would be *this* bad.

I could burst into tears thinking about how our season has just completely imploded.

Levy needs to do business early if we’re gonna stay in touch but we all know that won’t happen.

I would've taken top 8 before the season started.

Realistically around 6th-8th.

I think that's our current level.

I think top 8 is going to prove to be very difficult, can’t see where our next win will come from.

Mid table I think.

Its so hard right now to say where we might finish, after 8 games we were top with our best start since 1960 and were on for the title, now we are 5th but with 1-2 more losses could be 9th.

Our injuries have absolutely killed our start to the season but also the last 4-5 games on paper were the trickiest we've had all season so results were bound to be poor with all of our injuries etc, although I don't think even the most pessimistic on here expected only 1 pt from 15.

We will get a win soon enough, if not against Newcastle then one of the 2 after that and then our fixtures start to ease up a bit.

A lot will depend on what our position is come January and if we strengthern and if so which areas and how early on in January and also how quickly VDV, Maddison and Bentancur are back.

My big concern is Jan/Feb when Asia games and AFCON come around, we can probably just about cover Biss and Sarr but with Son gone I really worry who on earth will score our goals, this will be our big issue and as I can't see us signing a striker or prolific wide player in January right now I do think we could finish anything from 7th -10th as things stand.

If we did I'd not be too pissed off because there is huge huge progress in our style of play but without more squad depth and some better attacking players Ange's hands are completely tied in what is arguably the most competitive PL season ever.

Really really hope to goodness we sign at least 2 in Jan, a CB and a top attacking player like Jota etc, ideally we ship Richy to Saudi and also bring in a striker but that's very unlikely to happen in January.

Its going to be a bit of a slog but you never know in football, if we bounce back with a win against Newcastle then our confidence will return and things suddenly don't look quite as gloomy.

We really aren’t. We’ll lose against Newcastle for sure.
Ah fuck, really? Saves us a trip. At least the downbeat lads won't be disappointed and post about how the sky is falling afterward, because everyone expected it.

City, Arse and Liverpool will be top 3. Depends if Villa can keep pushing whether they will be top 4. Their away form is poor, if the home form drops off they will come back to us.
after that it’s us and Newcastle with poss Brighton, but I doubt it. United have some hard fixtures before Xmas .
still every chance of 5th and poss CL.
Defence was much improved with Romero back. We gave them both goals.

Well look at the evidence. We’ve conceded 13 goals 13 in 5 games, we’ve struggled to score in all our games bar city.

You can't say "look at the evidence" about the result of a game that's not happened yet.

We could finish the weekend in 9th …
We could also finish 4th if Luton beat City and we score a fuck load of goals, however unlikely, or 5th if we win, or 6th if we lose and Man U and Brighton do. It doesn't really matter does it

I think City, Arse, Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle and Brighton look better than us at the moment - so I'm kind of hoping for top 6 but expecting top 8/10 especially if Man U and/or Chelsea get their shit together.
