Great to see us top of the league - what makes it most interesting is it feels like the most competitive season that I can remember. Take the old "big six" - but you've also got Newcastle and their oil money as well as Brighton and Villa both looking strong. A big nine?

West Ham who won the Conference League, have added to their squad and have been able to take points off Brighton, Newcastle and Chelsea already this season - but they're still only probably the 10th best team in the league.
We're already in the Super League. Any Prem side still wanting to trot off to some BS Harlem Globetrotter contrived shite - which was only really a way for the La Liga 2 and Italian clubs to reverse their economic woes now they're not on top of the TV money mountain- again should have help packing their bags and never be let back into English football.

I wanted and want Spurs to have nothing to do with such a thing.

Obviously Ange wouldn't say he wants to win the title this season. But with the start we are having, it wouldn't be Ange if he's not considering to wanna go all in and win it, especially so when we have no European games at all. Regardless, to him, he just wanna win All games and that sits very very well with me.

It's insane how hard it is to win the PL nowadays. It doesn't help that the 5 weakest teams are virtually a guaranteed 3 points to the teams around us, so it will really come down to how we fair against the big boys.

We just need to keep the momentum going into December, which is when the gruelling period of cup/Europe/PL games hits our rivals and hopefully gives us the edge in terms of being fresh.

Having Bentancur back will also give us a massive lift. And with a bit of luck we can add a bit more depth in January.

What are we racing for……….I just don’t know!

Usually with a start as strong as ours you’d say we were going for a minimum of top four. This year there are some really strong teams which are usually outside the top six (Villa, Brighton), big clubs that haven’t started great but always have the potential to go on a strong run (Chelsea, Man Utd) and on top of that, the usual suspects from last season!

I personally think this will be one of the closest run titles in a long time and the top teams will drop more points than usual.

I really hope we are in the mix come May and I don’t just mean top four but who knows.

What I do know is I’ve spent far too long as a Spurs fan with a negative outlook and looking at the worst outcome for each fixture.

So sod it, I’m going to fully embrace this feeling because if you can’t enjoy football when you are top of the league when can you, COYS 😀

Obviously, we've put ourselves in a great position, but we're still only a couple of bad results from 7th (6 points.) This season is gonna be a brutal fight, given how much better the top 7 or 8 teams are than the rest of the league.

The next internional break will be nerve wrecking.

We have those four fixtures just after that which look like a pivotal little run and if we lose any of our key men it'll be so disappointing.

City have lost 2 games already out of the first 9. And yet Arsenal and Liverpool are still below them. Amuses me to hear Arsenal and Liverpool fans still thinking they can win when City have given them a 2 game head start and they still can't get above them.

To be honest the run-in eventually will be very simple.

We'll pretty much seal the title at home to City.
We'll mathematically win the league at home to Arsenal.
We'll get a guard of honor away to Liverpool.
We'll lift the trophy at home to Burnley.
And we'll have a massive piss-up away to Sheffield United.

COYS!

Next weekend is the real barometer for where our ambitions lie, not in our game but in the Manchester Derby…

If we allow ourselves to dream we should be rooting for a Utd win.

If we’re being realistic we should be rooting for a City win as it stretches the gap to a direct competitor for the final CL places

Jose had us top in December, Conte had us up there too. Far too early to look at the league but the best thing is the style of football we are playing

Agree it’s too early but Jose had us top after 11 games - it was December but that season the league started late. Come December this year we’ll have played a fair few more games.

It just feels different this year. In previous years when we were at the top it felt like we were lucky in a fair few of the matches. This year it feels justified and that some of the closer matches we should have scored a lot more. I guess confidence will be key if we are to keep playing in the same style and keep winning matches. Our performances after our first loss will be telling. We need to ignore our rivals as they are irrelevant if we keep playing in the same manner and with the same confidence. We will only get better and clinical as we develop.

If we beat Palace on Friday the Manc Derby will be like every other fixture at the weekend, feet up, cold beer in hand knowing we're top for another week and there ain't a damn thing anyone can do about it. 😁

I'm enjoying watching us play so much this season that I've consciously decided I'm not going to get too invested in other teams' results. Last season was probably the most mentally fatiguing season I can remember in recent history having to support Spurs, City, and every team Arsenal faced for an entire year.

I'm just enjoying my Lilywhites.

Not all league games though surely?
I think it was supposed to be 4-5 4 PL and one FA Cup :( huge losses : Biss,Sarr and Son!
If it wasn't for this I'd think we'd have a tiny sniff of a title race chance but I think this would be a big issue for us but we shall see.

I'll be joining @JimmyG2's Take a draw now society for this one (and every other game involving two other sides in the top half of the table, while we're still above them).

I don't think there's much chance of Man U finishing above us this season so I'd be happy with a draw or a Man U win as it implies Citeh dropping points. Citeh are still heavy favourites but if we are to challenge them we need them to drop points and so wherever we can get them obvs

It it came to Citeh or Liverpool, for example, then I'd want a draw first, Liverpool win second. But that would change if Citeh were 10 points clear and Liverpool close to us

Not sure at any time in my 50 odd years of supporting Spurs have I believed we will win the league.
However, I genuinely believe we are in with a shout this year.
We have a very good, very underrated, starting eleven now.
We still have Benancur, Solomon, and Johnson waiting to return.
No European football and a new style of football that should see us get stronger as the season progresses.

I felt at the start of the season City, Arsenal, and Liverpool would hit the ground running and we'd get closer as the season progresses.
But to find ourselves a couple of points clear around a quarter of the way through the season has given me a weird sense if belief.
