I have seen reference on FB via Topspurs but nobody on here has mentioned
that tonight is the 33rd anniversary of the 1981 FA Cup final win at the Old Wembley
vs Man City of course.

I was lucky to be there in the upper tier along with many many thousand of others who celebrated
a defining moment in Spurs history - After 8 long years of nothing and a dip into the old
2nd division along the way.

One of the days of my life - Never to be forgotten - until old age creeps up on me - I'm 58 now but will always be 25 years old when I remember that day.

Dear God. I was a mere 19 years old, with the world at my feet.

I'm still waiting for something special to happen.........but that night came close.

I was 7, watching it at home with my dad and uncle, and when Villa scored, from the roar from both of them and subsequent whirligig around the room, at that point I knew I'd support Spurs my whole life.

I was 16, went to first game on Saturday, then queued up all night at WHL for replay tickets,
in the middle tier behind that goal of Rickys and to be fair a cracking goal from Mckensie which was fit to win any cup final.
Just an unbelievable night, what a game, still watch it very often, when the current lot fuck me off.

The crazy thing was - None of our crowd had tickets for the Saturday match - We all paid cash on the gate - Highly illegal of course but in the olden days at Wembley once you were inside the first gate it was simple to get up in the stands beause if someone with a ticket went up and someone else came down with two tickets - "bingo"

The Thursday night game was devoid of all the freebie prawn sandwich brigade etc - Mostly just all the fans of both clubs and everyone had a ticket.

I was 6. My dad let me stay up and watch it. It was then that my love for Spurs was officially born.
