This fad formation from a couple of seasons ago needs to go.

It simply doesn't suit us.

A proper 4-3-3 is what we need with 2 wide forwards (Lamela and *gulp* Townsend?)

Until we get another in January anyway, maybe J Rod.

I would've though Chadli for the LWF?

Is that really drastically different to what we've been doing?

A little bit, yeah, but to be honest I think minute tactical alterations get given too much time and credit on here, mostly by Spursy Hipsters who like endless graphs and heat maps and stuff.

We were shite today, simple as, and no amount of mild tinkering with formations would've made any difference to the players barely moving off the ball, Ade being the worst target man in the league at the moment, Chiriches actually being a worse player than me, and Vertonghen sitting on the bench thinking "Fuck this".

It gets to the point where you need to say maybe it's not the graphs or Excel spreadsheets - maybe it's the motivation of the players to actually give a shit. Not many did today.

Walker can't come back soon enough. Verts is an interesting case for not being in the squad as he is hands down a better layer than Chir.

The rest of the lineup Sans malaria case was sound IMO.

Lack of ambition and profiteering at the expense of the fans, selling us the same old bullshit every fucking season. We are getting nowhere and going backwards. The 4-2-3-1 system is one of many problems. We should accept that the post Bale players are shit and won't develop. Chiriches is absolute shit and should never be aloud to kick a ball for us again. Kaboul is finished and I have serious doubts about Lamelas ability to adapt.

I hope we stick with the 4-2-3-1 as it's worked with Poch in the past, and I still believe he can make it work at Spurs. The formation isn't the problem, it's some of the players we have running it.
