You gotta have faith.

Alright, Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou*

Honest'y, I've got to admit I'd take 40 million. That is silly enough money for me.

But only if he went abroad. Hope that if Levy and co are resigned to selling him this summer they try to get Real, Juve, AC and the like to make that offer and try to stop ManUre getting their hands on him.

Basically I agree with Flatters if Berba wants to stay, we shouldn't sell whatever the price (well unless it was £100m or something really stupid) -

Berbs is our best player, he's a joy to watch, he's a great in the true Spurs tradition. Once again watching him at Ewood he lit up the park for us, almost every game he produces two or three bits of magic - but he also gives end product in goals assists and link up play that directly leads to goals

people keep mentioning names like Villa, why - he's not coming to us - not a chance - why not talk of signing Pele or Puskas - they'd be great replacements for Berbs too in a hypothetical universe

we struck both massively lucky and incredibly cleverly getting a world class player like Berbs in - Villa has a different profile - he'll go to a CL club if he goes anywhere - same with most/all the other superstar names that might replace Berbs but in acual fact won't

if we sell berbs we're far more likely to end up with a player like Crouch or even more likely a player that is from the continent but is not one of the big names continually mentioned

basically selling your best players against their wishes sends out the wrong message, so only sell if Berbs wants out

of course it's likely Berbs would be happy to go to a bigger club, then we have to ensure we do get max value - £30m or so being reasonable - so we can buy a couple of players in

if Berbs is agitating to get out - it gets more difficult - time will tell etc

Sunday Mirror Sports Editor: Fucking hell! It's deadline in ten minutes and we've got six column inches to fill in the footy section. Hasn't one of you ****s got any ideas?

Sunday Mirror junior hack: I could write a Berbatov transfer story.

Sunday Mirror Sports Editor: Fucking great!

Sunday Mirror junior hack: I'd have to make it up, boss.

So true!!!!!!!!

Anyway, here he is arriving at Sofia Airport yesterday for an Award Ceremony from the Bulgarian Foreign Minister for raising the profile and standing of Bulgarians in the world, and Bulgaria the country!

He obviously saw the '40 mill' headlines at Stanstead, cos he comments on it here, saying, as usual, he's not worth that much. If a passing Boris, Berbati or Gabi could tell us more, I'm sure we'll all be very grateful.

BTW when he mentions "Manager" he's referring to his smelly Agent, and not Mr Ramos.

Edit: Just watched the vid again, and at the end one reporter seems to ask him about "Arnaut" (the trollop who claimed to have had an affair with him). Please don't spare my feelings, and could you please let me know what he replies. Thanks!

berbatov should see out the remaining two years of his contract and repeatedly tell levy to f off everytime levy tries to sort out a contract extension or sell him..

he can then go to a champions league club if we dont get there and he will still be a young(ish) 30(ish).

how much fun would that be. come on berba, tell levy to f off and stay at the lane to the end of your contract!

Is that more or less of a joke that people thinking Villa, Eto'o and Ronaldinho would come to Spurs?

My word, someone talking sense. I'm sure Ronny and Eto'o would look forward to a weekly pay cut and UEFA Cup football. Besides, money does not equal quality my dear little Chelspurs--we need to build a squad of committed players not mercenaries.

40 mil? Goodbye Berbs. End of. Levy/Ramos/whoever would be stupid not to take such a large cash influx. Love Berbs, but am pretty sure there will still be a THFC years after he is gone...

another thing to consider re Berbs is this (webster law?) thingy that apparently soon he's old enough to buy out his contract on the cheap - for sure Levy & co will be well aware of the facts on this - I'm not too clear on it - but it seems it is a factor - that we may not have long to cash in on our 'cash cow'

I still don't want Berbs to go as he's my fave player - but it's another factor to consider - the club as ever is the key thing (even though it broke my heart to se Greaves & Hodd go)

I thought long and hard about this and now in the cold light of Monday morning, I would sell Berbs for £40, IF that was on offer, but only to a Spanish/Italian team. He can go for fcuk all in 12 months and has an agent who wants to make big money out of him, either with dodgy signing on fees or transfer percentages.
Berbs should be playing at the top level and guys, that we are not. A big transfer fee will assist Ramos to bring in the kind of players he needs to make us better.

If an article doesn't have quotes, it's BS by general rule, and the journo who wrote it should be banned for life... (and would have failed my reporting class in Uni, by the way, for not providing at least 2 confirmed quotable sources)

I am here to answer your question  Actually, all i read in the newspapers was that he doesn't agree with this high prise and that it should be much less, but he is not the person to tell it.
Today Berbatov received his award in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stated that he will establish a foundation which will support young talented children from all fields. Because "many people have helped me and I feel that i can do the same with the children because they are the future of the country".

As far as Arnaut is concerned, Berbatov said that if he wants to tell her something, he will do it directly to her, not through the media.

If we get 40 mil, I'd say grab it. Add another 20 mil and Ramos will have 60 mil to build a team that will win us the EPL.

I believe we have done all we can to ensure we don't 'lose out' should Berba decide to leave. I appreciate the club for doing this.

As for whether £40m is a good price - I think it is. Football is a team game and no matter how good you are, 2 £20m players would be more useful than 1 £40m player given our state as an 'above average' team.

E.g. we would probably be a better team with 2 Zolas as opposed to one great Zidane.

As we already have transfer targets £40m would go a long way to strengthening our squad.

Yeah, so we wouldn't sell him for anything less than 30 million, but i'm sure Levy would love to let him go on a free! :duh:

Just remember that most of us didn't mind Carrick going for 18m. The money is only good if the club can invest in a better player. But who actually is better then Berbatov that plays for a club with less stature then ourselves?
