No "Indifferent to who we appointed because Levy's masterstrokes only last 18 months anyway" option? ;)

That's pretty much where I was but i'm pleased with how things are going and am actually hopeful that he (Levy) has actually hit upon something this time. People are saying they'd like to see him in charge next season but I think we need him in place longer than that, regardless of how we do next year. The rewards for sticking by him through thick and thin could be huge if we show patience and let him build.

Yes we need to stick with this guy for at least 4/5 seasons.

But we all know Daniel and his ways.

LVG was 1st choice, but glad we didn't get him
FDB was 2nd choice and seeing what has happened to Ajax after his Qatar training camp, I'm glad we didn't get him.

Was still happy we appointed Poch, despite him being down the list and am still happy with that. He still has a lot to learn (improve his subs, squad rotation etc) but he has improved our players individually and as a unit.

I have no fucking clue what LVG is doing at United.

We resemble much more of a team than they do and had we not dropped those points at home to West Brom, Newcastle and Stoke we'd be ahead of them in the League despite their many world class stars.

Honestly, I have no idea what he's doing. They've enough stars to save their bacon each week but its all a bit of a mess and they'll drop points when their hard run starts.

Loving the fact we have a much younger and hungrier manager.

I would have picked De Boer but was equally happy with Poch. There wasn't much in it at the time and I'm glad we didn't get LVG, great manager but comes with too much of a side show. Poch is pure class, coaching methods, media handling and all the rest of it.

Policemen are very useful. But would you like one to follow you around all day long and make comments about everything you do?
We are 4 points worse off than we were at the same stage last season.

If Sherwood had stayed on we would be better off. Harry and Ade would have been playing from day one. Bentaleb and Andros obviously. None of this -oh, it worked, let's try it again, oh, it didn't work again bollocks.

Happy with Poch.

Can identify with this team again, and we seem to have grown a bit of mental strength and spine.

Delighted with the academy boys making the step up, obviously Kane doing exceptionally well, but I'm more happy about Mason. He's one I've wanted to do well for a long time and he's a nailed on starter every week now. He and Bentaleb have been great together.

We've stopped the trouncings by the big teams and are winning tough away games too.

We are in a final and are there or thereabouts in the mix for CL places.

The squad is young and only going to improve. Happy days are here again.

That's a rather bold statement, based on nothing but thin air.

You're missing the options:

Wanted someone else, still want him
Wanted someone else, happy we have Poch - which is the camp I am in.

I had hoped for Martinez at the time, but am extremely pleased with the job Poch has done so far and wouldn't swap him for anyone right now. We're playing good football, for the most part have cut out silly errors and have promoted youth. I wouldn't say 'job done' by any stretch of the imagination, but it feels like we are actually going somewhere for the first time in ages.

Not really thin air. If Sherwood started the season as manager Ade, Harry and Andros would have been in our starting line up.
No guess work. Harry and Ade were our 1st choice at the end of last season. Andros was not playing because he was injured.
I am very upset about losing to Liverpool. MoPo picked the wrong team and if he thinks that Soldado will come on late in a game and give us a goal then he is ..wrong!

You're right that the three probably would've been in the first team under Sherwood.

However:

1. Ade was in the first team in the beginning of the season, and he did fuck all.
2. Townsend? What good would come from that?
3. There are no guarantees that Kane would've had the same progress under Sherwood as he's had under Pochettino.
4. There are also no guarantees that Sherwood would've been able to upheld his second to none win ratio.
5. I'm also upset that we lost to Liverpool, but at least it was close this time. We lost 4-0 under Sherwood.

I was pretty firmly in the De Boer camp, so when Poch was chosen I was a little disappointed.

However, gradually he is winning me over. There's a number of things to be happy with.

But for me the most important aspects are that we now seem to finally have an identity again. With youth players that are talented and willing to follow his instructions, we should see much more to come. With the addition of Mitchell and the return of Broomfield, we should see more personnel who will buy into his philosophy. This is hugely important, a squad full of poch type players will be a nightmare to contain for the opposition.

He will certainly win me over completely if he develops our other promising kids on their way up through the system.

This. Anyone harping on (STILL! FFS!) about Sherwood (rejected by West Brom, Palace, Newcastle and now QPR) needs to remember what happened whenever we played a top four team last season. We wouldn't have beaten Arsenal at the weekend, we wouldn't have run Liverpool close last night, and we definitely wouldn't have put five past Chelsea. We'd have been smashed in all of them, Kaboul would be playing every game and Sherwood would have been blaming anyone and everyone but himself. Vertonghen wouldn't have returned to the form of his first season, and Lloris wouldn't have come out saying how impressed he is with the manager's ideas.

We probably wouldn't be in a cup final, either.

Not disagreeing with you but tbf, AVB was also blown out by two of those top four and of course also West Ham, of which one of course ultimately leading to his departure. So one cannot suggest Sherwood was entirely at fault for the thrashings we did receive under him as a result of these facts.

I do absolutely agree with you though that without Poch the good things would have been highly unlikely. The problem with the previous year was not the managers specifically, it was a weak mentality from the players due to a lack of a core because of our transfer undertakings the previous summer. Now, under Poch, we have established a new identity and a new core, and consequently our results have improved dramatically without spending much at all, and especially not on first choice XI players.
