Rose's physical attributes with Davie's steady eddy mentality would be great. He needs to sort his head out if he's ever going to be a useful contributor.

I think it's time to stop using the internet for a while. Some questionable conclusions in this post which smacks of immaturity.

Haha! Really? Interesting... and what did it tell you about the relationship with my mother, Dr Freud? :pompous:

I'd say i'd love to hear you break that down for me, but in all honesty i really couldn't care less.

Confidence is the single most important factor in sport - how does anyone expect our young players to have a chance at making it when our fans are so quick to get on their backs? Its a serious problem IMO.

He's 24 already, can we drop this "young player" crap.

The problem a lot of people have with Rose, is not purely his limited technical ability, it's the lack of application. If he loses the ball in an advanced position, he never chases the ball back. He just casually starts jogging home.

Add to the fact that he thinks he should be an automatic starter and that his temper on the pitch gets the best of him way too often and you'll have a good idea why Rose has gotten so much criticism.

Times a great healer it seems.

He was shit. Is shit. And will always be shit.

I got slated when I said this at the start of last season yet by Feb everyone was of the same view.

If we are happy with 7th or 8th... fine.

If we wanT to fight for 4th we need better.

Oh, it's not just his defending which is poor, his attacking play if you can call it that is atrocious.

He was good pre injury last season

Maybe you need to get the shit out of your eyes.

I can only assume he got injured in pre-season? And I assume that was one serious arse injury which resultd in partial blindness, lack of co-ordination and a piss poor attitude.

And less of the abuse JT. There is nothing wrong with my eyes. (Unlike dannys) This is a civil forum. That's a forum.. In which we are civil. X (to each other, if not to the sub standard players).

What turned me against Rosé was not only his very poor performances but also his poor attitude. Have you forgotten how he made no attempt to get back on numerous occasions when losing the ball up field. He looked like he felt such effort was below him. Unless Poch can address this he will remain a poor player who will drag us down.

Can someone remind me how many times Danny Rose has legitimately been sent-off for us?

Because I don't get where the temper thing is coming from either..

Maybe once?? i am not sure tbh. i think it comes from the whole England thing where he lost his head from being abused the whole game! cant blame him for that. He also lost his head against Stoke but wasnt sent off.

Well, the only logical thing about him getting a new contract is because Levy wants to tie him down so he can sell him for as much as possible. Certainly can't be because of his footballing ability, attitude or professionalism...

I don't care about his personality, I just think he's shit. Not average, not below average, just plain shit.

And that's like, my opinion, man.

I've never understood how so many of our fans have such short memories. Rose was looking like one of the top 5 LB's in the league at the start of the season, before his injury and I can remember loads of fans claiming he would make a massive difference when he came back into the team. Fair enough, he wasn't anywhere near as good when he returned but some of the criticism he got was ridiculous. It got to the point where almost every goal that came down the left side was entirely rose's fault, as if there isn't 3 other defenders plus midfielders that are also responsible for defending the penalty area. He's done fairly well in pre season and looks pretty confident which seems important for him to perform well, so I just hope if he does have a bad game some of the idiots that attend WHL don't boo him because if he gets back to the level he started last season at, which is by no means unlikely, we will have 2 very good young LB's to compete, the outcome would only be a good one for the club

I think you have a revisionist memory.

Yeah that's right, the club have offered him a new 5 year deal and upped his wage, not a contract extension - a 5 year deal and it's purely because Levy can sell him as much as possible...

Seriously some of you :ROFLMAO:

No, I don't. Rose was very good until his injury. If you choose to forget that, that's your problem. He's showing signs of getting back to a good level and has 5 years left at this club because our manager decided he deserves it and he rates him so you better open your mind a bit on this subject, because I'd take Pochetinno's opinion over yours every day of the week.

What signs?

If you're only going to follow Pochettino's opinion then maybe a forum is the wrong place for you.
