God help us all if Sol "Spurs Legend" falls ill.
Well you could say he did a few years back when he went home at half time during an Arsenal game.
It's partly why "that" song is so abhorrent.

Yes and if this had been a thread about "how good/bad was Aaron Lennon" you might have a point. But it isn't. It's a thread in light of him falling ill. It would be totally offensive and disrespectful whoever the player was whether it were King who is a Spurs institution to Gary Doherty who was frankly shit.
It's about human decency transcending opinion on how well another person kicks a football.
right I get that. but people arent always going to behave the way you want them to. the act of scrubbing the thread clean and restarting it anew inherently stifles speech. its a matter of opinion as to when that act is necessary.
I understand that, too. Just making my opinion known. This isn't a democracy. It's entirely up to the mods what they do with a thread.
I agree with you on this however the guy wasnt just expressing a dissenting position. If he was, that would have been perfect fine, IMO, even though it would have been a fucked up one given the situation. But he wasnt just expressing a dissenting position. He was being an inflammatory troll. That became increasingly obvious as the guy continued to post that stuff in the thread.I understand that, too. Just making my opinion known.

Looking at those grumpy Lennon signing for Everton pictures in a different light now...
Why?
Just Google him(images) and you will see him looking just as grumpy modeling England shirts. If he's not all out cheesy grinning he looks moody no matter what he's wearing. Far too much was made of those images at the time. There are other pics of him smiling in an Everton shirt and it looks completely different.Because originally it was just seen as funny and him being depressed about signing with them. Seems abit wrong to joke about how he was depressed now...

Understand Aaron Lennon condition a recent occurrence, not a long-term mental health issue. Expected to make full recovery in the short term
Great to hear, seems like he is smiling too...
