Anyone know much about this guy? Just got into one of those fucked up youtube/wiki spirals and ended up on his page somehow. Saw a vid from three years ago where he looked pretty outrageous, but not much since.

He kind of looks like how Le Tissier may have done if he could run

Superb player, had a few injuries last season but was involved in a lot of Southamptons goals.

Yeah, I know it's only league one but that doesn't really alter his ability .. bending them into the top corner round 3 players isn't any easier in league one than it is anywhere else.

I just loved his Le Tissier/Berbatov style nonchalance when taking the ball down or making space for a shot, it all looks so natural

His highlight reel looks impressive but I have to disagree with the bolded bit, in theory it's as easy to strike it into the top corner in the Prem as it is League 1, but in reality you are playing against better players with more pressure and less time on the ball, not to mention better keepers.

How many times do you see a youtube vid of players doing some jaw dropping things in a weaker league and then actually go on to recreate those moments in the PL?

One thing I will say about him, he's shit on FM.

You'd think with the amount of scouts down there watching Oxlade-Chamberlain that someone would go for him if he had the ability to step up..

Yeah, all I'm saying is that the technique to do it is the same no matter where you are, there's no way of knowing if he could do it at a higher level without actually sticking him in a premier league game and seeing. To be honest I don't think any keeper would have saved a couple of those top corner shots.

I read somewhere that Newcastle, Wolves , Fulham etc had been looking at him but none of the big boys as of yet. Mind you that was also a couple of years back, I get the impression his career rather stalled through injury for a year or two

I recall hearing about him a few years ago, either the same time or just after the emergance of Bale there. I do find it strange that not even one of the bottom half clubs have gone in for him, or the newly promoted sides.

I'd be very surprised if there was any interest from Chelsea and gobsmacked if that is the fee being demanded, given how little chetter there is about him at this point you would think any Prem club interested would have a pretty easy run at him.
