The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

So would most teams. Because that benefits wolves 0%. Why would they even think about that option.
I didn't say it would happen, I'd take him if the deal was right. 40m+ is not a good deal IMO for someone who would be a bit of a punt.

His is equally as important to Wolves, as Kane is to us. You can forget about signing him cheaply as this point of the window.
Traore is nowhere near as important or valuable to Wolves as Kane is to us. Even putting aside Harry's legendary/iconic status and marketability (which ought to be enough on it's own), there is but a handful of players in the world who can rival him for sheer output of numbers - i.e. goals and assists. Perhaps more importantly still, Harry has 3 years left on his deal whilst Adama has 2. That extra year makes a heck of a difference. Next summer Wolves will be lucky to get half of what they'd hope to now, while Kane will remain unsellable for anything less than £100m.

On the playing front I'll grant you Adama is pretty unique, but imo Wolves already have a better high velocity winger in Neto (albeit injured atm), along with Trincao and Podence. It seems too that Mendes has lined them up Goncalo Guedes in the event another spot becomes available. By contrast, who do we have to rely on in Kane's absence? More still, what replacement is buyable for a semi-reasonable amount?

Importantly, it seems Lage strongly favours inverted wingers so he may be more amenable to a change given Traore appears to best excel on the outside. Taking that into account, alongside the contractual factor, along with the even more significant Mendes factor (put no machinations past him where it comes to dodgy transactions with Wolves), I can absolutely see how this deal may be doable within this window - granted, that's me assuming we actually have something to spend. In greatest likelihood this deal only happens in the event Kane leaves (kind of a shame as I'd love to see what Harry could do with the extra space afforded by a Traore).

If Adama was a player that consistently scored and assisted like some of you expect of him (as to be a good signing) he would be classed as an elite player there in giving us no chance (currently ) of even being in the conversation to sign him...oh and anyone who thinks that goals are scored by players not finding additional space because teams have doubled up on another player has to re evaluate how they view the game ....football is all about moving the other team around to create over loads isn't it? Adama clearly does this with his presence alone

Another point to make is....we must trust nuno and his judgement football is just played with sheer ability (see our very own ndombele ) so maybe nuno thinks and knows if Adama was playing and training with better players everyday that that would improve his level considerably (as hopefully he has a mentality to become the best) and is a student of the game

And my final point is.. maybe Nuno has a vision to play him differently to as he did at wolves why not play him in a midfield 3 and let him dominate the middle of the park (that would be fun to watch now wouldn't it) like a certain my Dembele did for us for a number of years.? he would be so destructive in a system like that

He has a higher potential ceiling than anyone in our current sqaud.

If he starts to score and assisst more regularly he will be one of the best wingers in the world.

I know what you are saying, but it’s not like he’s 18. He’s 25 and hasn’t really improved those attributes in the last 3 seasons. I can’t really say he’s any better than Moura or Bergwijn.

Not to say he might not be a good signing. IMo he’s only worth having if you have a truly world class CF…..

PSV want 40m for Madueke. He would be my other choice. Sarr is another good option but would prob cost north of 40m.

Madueke still very inconsistent, Watford have quoted over £50m previously which led to Liverpool going for Jota and they have quoted similar ("a scary offer" according to ITK to us.

The technical ability to hit a shot out for a throw is next level. I'll give you that. As is that technically brilliant one on one he had today. Just like Bale against sheffield united.
Thought that one to one was a decent save

I'm on the Traore Train. I can just imagine him occupying the defenders of the top teams....and Arsenal and giving us a better chance of winning some of the big matches as well as games against the others. He has to be one of the hardest opponents to play against. You cannot clatter him, he stands up, you can't get tight, he rolls you, you can't stand off, he goes past you. Imagine him playing for us and picture him taking us 30-40 yards up the pitch in those games where we have been pinned back. He is always an out ball and needs careful attention. He might not score much but Sonny might actually be able to keep up with him and if the two of them work on things on the training ground and build a relationship they could be absolutely deadly. Adama gets to the ball first, drives us up the pitch, Sonny sprints up in support, Adama drops it off to him and you know the rest! Get him in I say!

Surely this money would be better spent in defence. Sanchez and dier reverted more to their normal form yesterday so be very strange to spend reported 40m on a player who isn't a significant upgrade on what we have while that money could definitely be used to improve a real problem area for us

This. It’s become clear that Nuno’s 433 resembles Liverpool’s 433. A high energy, industrious midfield 3, but one that won’t contribute much in the way of goals over a season.

Liverpool are almost wholly reliant on their front 3 for goals and so will we be. The difference is they have Salah/Mane/Firminho/Jota to select from. We have Son/Kane/Bergwijn/Moura currently. I’m not expecting us to have their quality in depth, but we’d want a minimum of 3 bona fide goal scorers to be able to pull off this system and challenge for top 4.
Liverpool rely heavily on the output from their two fullbacks, ours aren’t in that league or anywhere near.

I think he would be great. Love watching him when he is not playing us. And he has some end product at least, had 9 assists and 4 goals in 19/20 season, which I belive was Nuno's last full season with Wolves.
