Apologies if I've missed this anywhere but I saw Adebayor was back to having the number 10 shirt yesterday following Van der Vaart's departure, despite having and playing in the number 25 shirt last week.

It just shocked me to see it and wonder if I'd missed something, and wonder if any of you lot had already bought a new Tottenham shirt with Adebayor 25 on the back?

I was still under the impression that you can't change your shirt number after playing a league match with it. Has this rule been scrapped it us it just from September onwards?

Believe you can change numbers up until the end of the transfer window

weird, I never knew you could do that..

Still no official numbers for Hugo and Clint tho. Wonder why Gomes wasn't at least loaned out (I know he's injured, but so is Gio).

I'd reckon Clint to have number 9, maybe Hugo 25now then?

After the window closes you have to submit player registration again and this is the last time in the season a player can change a shirt number. I don't think it's possible in January.

Or at least this is what years of Football Manager has taught me. ;)

Really poor behaviour from the club really. After all the Bale 3's I keep seeing about, the Adebayor 25's are going to be just as pissed.

Wouldn't get his name on my back no matter what the number was!

It should've been Moutinho's new number :(

Nah Moutinho is more of a no. 8 man so would have to battle Scotty (or worn 14 until 8 eventually becomes available) - I like my forwards to wear 10, not midfielders.

I reckon Lloris will probably take 12 as is a continental kind of keeper number - he'd have probably taken 16 with 1 being taken if that was free as the French seems like 16 for a keeper for some odd reason (like Americans like 18 equally oddly).

Dempsey is down as 9 on wiki although they'd prematurely put him as 10 previously so they could be jumping the gun again - I'd give him 17 personally and retire the 9 for Leandro... (lol lol lol optimistic crazyness etc).
