AVB has handled this badly - from the minute he went public and said he was going to be with the development squad until he "saw fit".

Players have egos and he'd just been given compassionate leave, to say that in the press was ham fisted.

I heard Mourinho did exactly the same to De Bruyne and that was just for putting in a bad performance in a game.

And it is public knowledge because a commentator said it during the Arsenal game.

It appears that AvB has no intention of even considering Adebayor anymore (and correctly), therefore there is nothing to handle hamfistedly

I don't think he's handled it well at all, not sure what the point of taking him to Russia was and then not giving him a sniff. But Adebayor clearly hasn't helped himself, which is a shame, means we need a new striker again in January.

Seems as if AVB has no real intention of playing him, ever, unless really needed, which is his choice as coach but maybe not the right one for the team. Adebayor has given up and is just waiting to be sold now.

Shame coz we could do with him in the squad as an alternative to Soldado in my opinion. Probably best to sell him now though, I don't see the two of them making the effort to build bridges.

AVB as a Head Coach clearly doesn't want players unless they give 100% for the team. Adebayor plays outstandingly when he feels like it but can't be arsed for far too many games. No need to muck about get rid of Adebayor and bring in someone who will give his all for the team every match.

His presence on the plane to Moldova suggested otherwise.

I reckon AvB was hanging him out to dry, i think he has a bit of a malicious streak in him.

He basically smirked when the interviewer asked if he would be giving Adebayor a run out. So did I. Gone quiet with his new found support of the club on twitter hasnt he?

I'm really disappointed by this (Ade and the situation). I thought we'd turned a corner with him but all the while it seems we've been going round in circles. Such a waste :(

If he had no intention of considering Adebayor anymore, i wouldn't consider that correct at all. He is a very highly paid, and very talented player and a huge asset (or liabilty - depending on your viewpoint!) and needs to be handled as such. you shouldn't treat a multi million pound asset whimsically IMO

Everyone reckons that Adebayor only plays well for a contract, he has that reputation, so by that rationale maybe now is the time to play him and get the most of out of him then! (y)

To be fair we don't see what is happening in training. We don't know how he behaves, how much he applies himself. Based on his attitude last season on the pitch I suspect he isn't the hardest worker. I don't think it would be fair to players like Kane, who I imagine works very hard in training, to pick Ade just because he's better and may or may not turn up. It sends the wrong message out to the rest of the squad.

As I said on another thread- I want Kane to be given more minutes to see what he can do. He's doing it for England U21's. Give him cup time and see where this takes us before January.

But he's not the lone striker that we need, just like Soldado wasn't.

Ok, but Kane is getting better and needs to do something soon or he'll be the next Obika

Personally I agree with BC, I think he has a future in the game, but it isn't with us.

He made comments last night that he thinks his best position is the Number 10. Not for us, in my opinion.
