So few sceptical of Russian players? I remember when it was Pav and arshavin that was the next big thing from there, and neither really worked out.

Is all this over his decent Euros or do ppl watch a lot of Russian football? Would like to hear more from ppl that view him every week if they believe he is good enough for Spurs, or if they could see him flop like previous Russians.

He might be a world star in the makings for all i know, just suprised so many is all over him and suspect its just due to a couple euros games and FM.

What I love about football is how we all judge a player or a manager from a country, or whatever, on how shit/great a past player was from said country.

Such as this pearl on Facebook:

"Blanc? Fuck no!! Remember Santini!!!! let's not go there"

As if the possibility that two people are in fact... two completely distinct people, is beyond the comprehension of some people.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Don't want Cristiano Ronaldo for £10m becuase the last time we had a Portugese attacking player in Postiga, he was shit.

hmm... seems that if Balotelli doesn't score, Dzagoev would win the golden boot as he, Balotelli, Gomez and Ronaldo is on 3 goals, but he played the least amount of games.

Think Gomez gets it as he has one assist compared to none for the others.

AVB's side for next season:

Lloris

Walker
Kaboul
Vertonghen
Ekotto

Sandro
Moutinho

Dzagoev
VDV
Bale

Adebayor

If that side doesn't give you a boner you're fecking lying to yourself :)

It does give me a monumental erection, but my only sour(er) would be the lack of non british players in that team.

We could have Lennon, Parker, Caulker (thnk of some other English/British players we have) on the bench though. At least a third of the 18 match day squad could Ingerlish.

I'm a fan, good on the ball and a very hard worker, which can't always be said for Pav an Arshavin. Hope he can speaka da lingo and ain't too thick to learn it quickly if there are any legs in this.

The Pav experience does give me the fear, but I think this guy is different gravy to Pav...thankfully.

fuck that shit now, it's all about buying off of a good tournament. Have you not seen the latest edition of Soccernomics? In all seriousness though, he looks like a very good player and I wouldn't want to miss out because we're scared that it was just a EUROs thing. Sanchez, Ramires, Ozil, Gyan, and Khedira were all bought just after a good WC2010 so perhaps the times are changing.

One of these things is not like the other,
One of these things is different...

They've got Richards, Milner and Johnson to up the squad quota though.
And we've got Livermore, Parker, Smith/Naughton, Caulker, Lennon, Huddlestone, Dawson, Defoe, and likely Rose or Townsend. There is no great lack of English players in this team.
