Yeah, the time when Lineker referred to winning the FA cup with Spurs while on MoTD a few years back sticks in my mind. He referred to how special it was with a wistful look in his eye. Top man.

I didn't mention the obvious, jealousy and envy, because although it seems apparent, it also makes them look and sound, well, jealous and envious!
And what idiot would go on TV and share that with the rest of the world......oh i get it Dirty Sanchez.....there is a bit of Jeremy Kyle in punditry nowadays!

Perhaps the TV bosses are deliberate in there choice of pundits, what better than to have someone rave on about someone else's success in a negative and derogatory manner, and make a fool out of themselves!

They have a rotation on there, based on ex players to teams and availability!

I think everyone here is being a bit paranoid to be honest. The media doesn't hate us as much as you lot are making out. The problem is that we have been subjected to alot of negative analysis over the years and, let's be honest, we have been shite for a long time until recently.

You have even said that most of the gooners mentioned (Merson, Nicholas, etc) have been very complimentary on the win - so maybe it was just opinion?

Basically, we tend to hold a grudge over a negative comment that is made on the telly and never forget it which is quite ironic given the abuse you get about our players/club on this site at times.

My comments are based mainly on people who cannot/wont give credit when its due, i didnt hear Sanchez or Nicholas, but a few others just cant bring themselves to applaud or congratulate us without some back handed comment!
Good point about the comments on here as well!

I honestly don't think it's paranoia or imaginary. I honestly think that it's got something to do with our history and us having fallen off the pedastall a little over the last couple of decades. We are probably the biggest team in most ways outside the top4 and that makes us the biggest target. Combine that with the various natural bias from Arsenal/Chelsea/West Ham luvvies in the media & punditary.

I actually think tha Alan (Monosalabic) Smith has always been pretty fair considering. And I think Keown talks alot of sense. I always thought that le Tissier was a spurs fan ? And as for hoddle being a wanker who belittled our achievement, I think you missed alot of the stuff he said. At one point he said something like We thouroughly deserved it, and he was chuffed because of his life long ties with the club. Saying Chelsea didn't turn up is hardly belittling us when taken into context with all the good stuff he said. He is a bit of wally sometimes but he loves this club, of that I have no doubt. You have to remember that he was with chelsea for a few years and they also have a duty to try and be a bit balanced as well.

To be honest, I haven't heard anybody say anything other (TV, Press etc) than we deserved it. Which, for once, is pretty fucking sweet.

B-C, His comments came at the end of 90 minutes when the talk was of what Chelsea had to do to win the game, my gripe is, why did he have to say, 'Chelsea have been poor all day' etc, in effect saying if it wasnt for Chelsea being so bad we wouldnt be going into extra time, thus giving us no credit for what we had achieved.
Whatever good he said about us is undone with the comment he makes at the end of 90 minutes!
As someone said earlier, the talk was of how chelsea lost rather than of how we won!
when we beat Arsenal 5-1....we were reminded that we only beat the reserves.........had we lost to them.....what a great reserve team !

Chelsea were rubbish. We were great - as just about everyone in every paper and on every TV or radio show has said - but it would be remiss of anyone analysing that game not to mention the fact that Chelsea didn't play at all well.

I'd like to think that they were rubbish because we were great, and subsequent reviewings of the game seems to support that - every player worked extremely hard, even if they were fresh off the subs bench or had been playing for 120 minutes.

That was undoubtedly a factor. But where we were sitting most people were commenting on how bad Chelsea were as well as how good we were - just like all the 'biased' people in the media have.

Yeah. If memory serves it was someone saying that our key players were Woodgate and King, Jenas and Zokora. Something about the key battles being in the middle of the park and us winning them convincingly.

Or it could have been something completely different. I'd taken a fair bit of drink.

Champagne Charlie, i would love to take a swing at him just as GG did, mind you i would like to take a swing at him too,he he

I DID see someone "unload" Charlie Nicholas - it was Graham Roberts who tackled him and "placed " him in the advertising hoardings at Highbury. Brilliant.
