I was very disappointed in his performance when he came on for Charlie yesterday, surely Harry brought him on to 1. Try to contain Rooney better and 2. Support Lennon and get down the wing to attack United

He did none of those things and not only that defended poorly and looked pretty uninterested in the whole situation

Yes I know he's been injured but I've hardly seen a glimpse of this great player he is supposed to be.

Is he not the most over-rated player we've bought for the money we paid?

I was hearing from all the hype that we were buying this fantastic player that would be of the quality of Stephen Carr at his best but the more I see of him the more I think he's more like Jimmy Carr

we was a beaten side long before hutton came on, we struggled to play a simple pass in 90mins of being in pedestrian mode resorting to HOOF..

we never pressed them or moved the ball quickly with one-two's, considering scholes and giggs ages we could'nt get near them and they tore us apart.

hutton should'nt be the scpae goat for an inept team performance

Im not making Hutton a scapegoat, I dont like him or rate him as a top player

Dont get me wrong he looks a decent player but I dont think he's a top 6 defender or attacking right back either

Has anyone seen this supposed great player we bought from Rangers for a tidy sum?

No. And his defending(well lack of it) for Shreks goal was nothing sort of something you wouldn't be happy with on a sunday morning at the local field. He was also at fault along with Cudicini the other week.

Scapegoat or not, unless he improves he's average at best.

That would the Stephen Car whose fuck up gave us the game against Bham ?

I think you are being very harsh.
He isn't getting regular football and he came into a game as late sub, a game we were already playing poorly in. He got no help from Lennon - once Lennon literally just stood there watching as Evra went at Hutton making it easy for Evra to get past.

The fuck up against Bham was easily half Cudicinis fault at least.

Personally, I really like Corluka but I don't shit myslef if hutton plays either. Corluka was poor against ManU on Saturday as well. To me their really isn't much in it at all. Corluka is more intelligent but a bit slow and Hutton more tenacious. Both like to get forward with Hutton often slinging in a decent cross or Corluka looking to play in Lennon.

Same thing happened against Birmingham.

How do you expect a bloke to improve when he's getting bits and bobs of football here and there ? How do you expect him to get match sharp and up to the pace of the EPL.

I don't think in either game Hutton did alot wrong.

Rooney's goal was more a great bit of individual skill than a fuck up by anyone but why is Ekotto being left out of culpability ? He was on the premisis too and did even less than Hutton.

What about the point where Rooney was running in from the left and Corluka just stood off and stood off until Rooney shot dangerously and Cudicini had to make a low corner save.

that was very poor as well, should have gone out and at least put pressure on him.

None of our fullbacks played well against United, infact most of our players played poor against them.

Well i hope he would make improvements on the training field and then put that into effect when giving some playing time. Rooneys goal was poor defending and no more. Rooney didnt have to do much of fuck all, it was far too easy for him.

And BAE was at fault also he should have got goal side of Hutton so when Rooney turned him he was there for cover, he didnt and that to was poor defending.

Jenas hasn't played much lately but he looked lively enough, i appreciate playing regular football breeds confidence and match sharpness but he makes more mistakes(and costly ones at that than Dawson) and you give that bloke more stick that anyone ive ever seen on here, the difference being?

Its not a post about Corluka though, but yes you are right he's also not up to much defensively imo

On the whole, the only thing he seems to have over Corluka is a bit more pace. In both an attacking and defending sense he has looked inferior, on pure technique he is miles behind. I haven't seen one thing from him since he joined us to justify the fee we paid.

He seems to cost us a goal, regardless of how the game is going, almost whenever he plays. He makes me long for Stalteri, and I was a huge critic of Stalteri (who at least never looked lazy)

He is fucking useless as a defender and the sooner we get rid of this twat the better!
He is no better than Chimbonda.
He will be gone in January if we can find anyone that wants him.
People still seem to wonder why we have so many right backs, the answer is simple, the majority of them are shite!

The worst performance I have seen from him... Shame as I do rate him as a player..

Saying that Corluka is a much more complete defender... Him and Lennon have a good understanding as well.

Absolutely useless since he was injured last year. He looks like he has the turning circle of a truck at the minute.

There was only way to show Rooney and that was wider than he was already. he got too tight and couldn't cope with the turn inside.

Every week he seems to be at fault for something.

Yes, it was a poor performance as a whole, but at 2-1 with 25 minutes left, against 10 men, you still have a chance of nicking something. If you gift a goal like that, then you have no chance against Man U. He very nearly cost us 2 points last week.

We paid 7 million for a new right back, get him on the pitch and sell the boozer to Everton?

I watched him in the international games and his positioning was really bad, always on the wrong side of his man. The thing is he used to be a good player and I remember when we were linked with him quite a few Spurs fans were very excited about it!!

Were did it all go wrong? bright lights of London?

I'd say it went wrong when we got excited about a player on the basis of performances in a 3rd rate league and at international level. I think SS57 will vouch for the error of our ways in this instance.

These comments sure remind me of a pre-form BAE.

Useless defender? Check.
No better then the guy we just sold? Check.
Great going forward? Check.
Lazy? Check.

Anyway,

He seems to cost us a goal, regardless of how the game is going, almost whenever he plays. He makes me long for Stalteri, and I was a huge critic of Stalteri (who at least never looked lazy)

And yet you rate Corluka? Who has (lazily) switched off in every game we've played this season.

Nice.

Firstly, regarding BAE, anybody who wasn't completely braindead knew before he hit form not to write him off due to having seen, amidst problems which can be attributed to youth/ new country and playing style/ injuries, quite a lot of potential. Alan Hutton i about to hit 25 years old, and his issues owe to an inherent lack of ability. He switches off constantly, releases the ball poorly, has the positioning of a hampster on crack and I cannot remember the last time he stopped a cross coming in.

Corluka, and I've said so after each and every match, has had a poor start to the season thus far both defensively and going forward. However, I also had the pleasure of watching him all of last season, something that it appears you did not have, and seeing him dominate his winger in almost every game, never letting his lack of pace cause him problems, bringing the ball out of defence brilliantly and contributing to our team in superb style. He is not lazy, he is measured and composed. The people who call him lazy are probably the same people who called Berabtov lazy (i'm assuming you fall in this bracket, apologies in advance if I am wrong). In fact, I dare say that in your writing off of Corluka because of his poor start, you are the one who resemble the Ekotto doubters of the past.

Hutton has a bit of pace, that's it. He is pushed around by players half his height, he is never in the right position, he mistimes everything he does, he cannot release the ball and he never seems to be in line with the rest of the defence. He is a bad player and should not even be allowed to watch our games from the crown, never mind play in our team.
