Look I think Hutton is not a great defender, but I have to say, the move started on the left of our goal and ended up in the middle - Hutton is a RB, surly our two CB's and LB need to take some blame here - but Hutton's defending when put into the position, was schoolboy, really:hump:

Hes a defender albeit a RB. Not to sure where the CBs were. Maybe we had a corner? and the two CBs went forward? Therefore usually you will leave players back covering those CBs and they have to do a job. Can't blame the CBs if they have gone forward for a set piece. As i have said BAE should have also done alot more than he did to help Hutton out. Its pointless i suppose, there are those of us who rate players and those of us that do not. It will be down to Harry at the end of they day to see who is up to it and who isn't.

All players make mistakes from time to time and Hutton had to deal with Rooney, who played a blinder in my view when Utd went down to 10 men. Rooney showed him up badly for the goal, but on a whole taken the amount of regualar football AH has played after his injuries I'm sure it will take him some time to get up to speed again. Don't think he's as bad as is being made out.

Bus-Conductor - "wow, our back up RB isn't Cafu ?
what a fucker".

Not really sure what you mean by this?
Are you trying to be an aggressive smart-arse or is it some attempt at sarcasm? I can't quite make it out.
"The white Cafu" was a nickname given to Hutton before he came to us - I'm not saying anyone was expecting a Cafu, just that was what he was labelled as.
And I'm pretty sure that we didn't spend somewhere in the region of £8m on a back-up player. I reckon we may have wanted him as first choice originally.

As far as I'm concerned, the verdict's still out on him.

If I'm reading you comment wrong and you're not trying to be a cock, please accept my apologies! If not, please think about what's been written before spouting off about it - a little thought may help you to understand what was actually being said in the first place.

Having reconsidered my position on the mateer I've decided that in fact my original stance of "wow our back up right back isn't Cafu, what a fucker" should actually be amended to:

Wow, our current back up right back isn't Cafu.

I wish some people would read and think about EVERYTHING that has been written by me in this thread before they posted instead of being ignorant cocks.

Oh right, I'll try to remember that next time you quote someone and are acting like a rude prick, that actually you're referring to everything you've said instead of what you've quoted. How stupid of me not to think of that!! Maybe you should try to be a little clearer?
Being rude is still being rude and what gives you the right?
You really are a sad, tiresome little man aren't you?!

Its pretty hard to be consistent when you have been injured for a long time and in and out of the team on a regular basis.

Rooney didnt have to do anything special to beat Hutton, he made it very easy for Rooney. All Hutton had to do was get across to Rooney cover a direct shot on goal and get his body in a position to stop Rooney cutting back across him(something which Rooney actually did ALL to easily) He got himself in a fucking mess its that simple, but i do agree BAE didnt really offer much in terms of help.

Please watch the goal again, Rooney's movement was excellent, he bought Hutton inside, then cut back with a great touch, Huttons body was in a position to stop him cutting back but Rooney megged him!

Hutton wasn't in a mess, he was in a decent position for playing the average's (when Rooney recieved the ball, he span into the center, Hutton tracked him, and tried to shield him wide) BAE came across to help so Rooney turned the opposite way, (back towards Hutton) in order to do this he had to megg Hutton!

If you watch closely, after Hutton was megged, BAE accidently barged into Hutton which nocked him off balance and prevented him from blocking the eventual shot aswell!

I agree the goal was sloppy, from a team point of view, but we were chasing the game and left Hutton exposed with one of the best talents in the world in red hot form. I think its a case of "great goal, well done Rooney"!

No blame towards either full backs for me, just a bloody good goal from Rooney!!

I didn't want to judge him too early but I never saw the great player some saw in his early games. Very 1 dimensional player to me.

He would probably improve with match time but he just doesn't strike me as a reliable player.

I think Hutton has great potential and will be one of the best right backs in the league. He is still inexperienced; anyway all your judge jury and executioner views count for nothing as only one man matters and he is picking Hutton to start games.

Everything he said made sense to me.

Each to their own i suppose. But lets be right a "great goal" then i expect it to be a candidate for goal of the month, but i somehow doubt that, don't you?

We could go on and on and on, but i will put it down to very poor defending which in turn let Rooney in with relative ease. I won't call it a "great goal" with some brilliant individual play. Didn't watch MOTD but i'd be interested to know who they portrayed it.

I believe it has a chance of being in the Goal of the Month comp, it was a very good individual goal for me. It was in the Sky Sports News six of the best?

What part do you think im not serious? (see comments above). Thats how i saw the goal!

It's not just the goal v Utd. Cudicini wasn't exactly faultless for that, neither was Ekotto. I just genuinely have not seen anything from Hutton in the past 9 months since he returned from his big injury to instill any confidence whatsoever. I just do not think there is a premiership player in there. I know injuries and lack of first team action don't help, but real players (Lennon last season for instance) respond and improve and make themselves contenders.

His pace is almost irrelevent because he's so slow to react that a slower player will be long past him before he even begins. His positioning is a non event. He gives the ball away a lot, and in dangerous positions while he is up the pitch. It leaves us very exposed. He doesn't seem to tackle and he habitually shows players the fastest route to goal.

I find it amazing that some people actually prefer him to Corluka. What are they watching? Corluka has had a poor start this season, granted, but anybody who cannot see that he has been top drawer in at least 75% of his games since signing for us needs their eyes checking and their head testing. On the flip side, I haven't seen Hutton have a remotely acceptable game since the League Cup final in 2008.

I couldn't agree more, and I don't even agree with those who think Corluka has been that poor, he was awesome against Liverpool in the first game, Hutton has shown to be nothing but a liability.

Don't know anything the sky sports news six of the best? And as ive said each to their own. Had i been manager of Tottenham(hyperthetically speaking of course) i would not have been happy at Hutton(or BAE or Cudicini either) for the ease Rooney(just one player) beat all three of them with relative ease.
