Brentford have dropped the lead at home twice today while Derby have come back from behind 3 times to salvage a 4-4 draw away

Had Brentford won and Derby lost they would have moved to within a point of both Derby and Ipswich (who drew today)

I think Brentford's form has stuttered at the worst possible time and I find it hard to see them making the play offs this year now - which is a shame because I think it would have been more valuable experience for young Pritchard (especially had he/they made it to Wembley for the final)

Whatever happens now though he can hold his head high as he's done very well and the bright side will be that he has a longer summer off and hopefully will be fresher/more hungry for our preseason and next year

Good luck to the kid - he's showing great potential and hopefully will break through next season like Kane has this year

Scored again to put the Bees in front - hopefully they can hold on to the win this week, that Late Bent goal for Derby and a loss away to Wednesday was really damaging to their chances of making the play offs

Sadly not.

They've been very spursy over the past few weeks.

At least Prichard will know what to expect when he joins up with the first team next season.

Its so sad that the only joy i've had with football since our players took vacation right before we played Burnley is following our youth players out on loan, like Pritchard and new boy Alli.

But reading up on them on other forums and watching their goals etch do give me some joy though :)

If Brentford don't make the Play-Offs I can see Pritchard coming back and playing the last 2-3 games of the season for us.

He bloody deserves it, too.

It is becoming more and more obvious what great talents he and Dele Alli are and I fully expect them to press for first team places at Spurs next season.

It is fantastic to see.

He's obviously a good player but I'm not even sure we have the space to register him as an over 21 next season

How many foreigners over 21 though?

17, the maximum we're allowed, hence why we only registered 21 of the 25 squad players. Pritchard could be added to that without needing to remove anyone from the list as he is home grown.

I meant next season

We'll still have room for him. At the moment we can't add any more non-homegrown players to the squad without selling/releasing some first. We can add four homegrown players without having to remove anyone first.

There are four players in the under 21 category who will have to be registered next season (Davies, Kane, Pritchard and Yedlin) who are all 21 now. Dier and Bentaleb I believe can remain as u21 players next season as they were under 21 on January 1st 2015. Alli will be u21 anyway as he's only just turned 19.

Ceballos currently takes up a place in our PL squad, whose contract runs out at the end of the season and hasn't been offered a new one. That's Yedlin's place sorted. Then there's Friedel, who as a 43 year old third choice keeper who hasn't played a minute of football this season is easily sacrificed if need be. Also Adebayor, Kaboul and Capoue who Pochettino will want gone, and who knows about Chiriches, Stambouli and Paulinho. But there's five registered overseas players who will most likely not be in the squad next season.

Even if we only sell Adebayor, Kaboul and Capoue, there's still sufficient space in the squad for up to four non-homegrown new signings, as well as bringing Pritchard into the squad. I'm assuming that Lennon, Holtby and Carroll, who currently don't take up places will also be sold.

Everyone seems to be missing the point (n)

Think the concensus is :

1. Spurs need a creative back up for Erikssen as he cannot play in all the games in a season - Pritchard fulfills that brief, even down to being a very good free kick taker

2 With the exception of Eriksen and maybe Chadli our AM's have not really shone. So we need to overhaul our AM's generally - and there is no way we are buying about 4 AM's so Pritchard could fill one of those places

Pritchard has many of the same attributes as Kane, Bentaleb and Mason having come up through the Spurs academy - hard working, technically good, can press well and as an AM knows how to create goals and scores a few too. Coming through the Spurs academy means he knows the club and the club knows him, so the time to assimilate will be very low - so no more 'oh its his first season and he needs time to adjust' problems.

Nobody is saying that he's going to walk into the first team as a guaranteed starter - but equally don't rule out him doing a Harry Kane either - so expectation is that he'll start as a back up to the first team and we'll see how he is against better class opposition.

So there you have it - room in the squad and a decent player who if he had not come through our academy would be on our radar as a very decent prospect.

The future is a mix of bringing players through our academy and buying genuine star potential players where we have gaps. Pritchard is another coming through the academy.

Have I missed your point ?

Might have mentioned that my friend is good friends with Dean Parretts. Anyway he was at Deans house recently and Alex was there. Alex (allegedly) really likes Poch. He say's he calls him after almost every game and regularly has someone from his team at games.

Just though I'd pass it on.
