Negredo would be the strong centre forward Arry keeps on about and Crouch could take over from Pav who looks to be on the way out.

I actually don't think we are even in for him. It's all just paper stuff due to the links with Madrid at the start of the transfer window.

Crouch will sign to replace Pav and Bent will end up staying.

I think such rumours can easily spiral in such ways, a paper puts a link out there so ITKs get the notion about the player signing and either make up a rumour about said player as it will look more credible or have their player in their head so link any vauge info they are given and associate with that player.

All of a sudden you have various sources naming the same name (even if they have no real basis) so add weight to the rumour. Either that or the papers read board such as this and print a similar story to such ITK they read which again gives false credit to a rumour that may be entirely fabricated.

Personally I don't see us signing any one from Madrid, although the comments from Robben regarding us would surely suggest we have made contact with Madrid in one way or another (he said himself that his father had spoken to us and he was aware even flattered by our interest) with this in mind I think it is fair to not totally rule out any info regarding players at Real...just as equally it would be foolish to blindly believe every piece of ITK we see regarding them.

End of the day 99 per cent of what papers publish is crap and ITK rumours are probably 99.99 per cent always rubbish.

I just think we get linked to a player that people think that will be a good signing usually due to his name and then when we end up with another player not so flamboyant most fans get disappointed. We are not going to make a Klinsmann signing every year and probably even more so with Harry at the helm as he is in my opinion a sensible manager.

Take for example signing Crouch, he is a sensible signing as we know he can produce the goods in the premiership and has linked up well with Defoe before, however when we get linked with the KJH of the worlds who on paper look fantastic yet in my opinion might or might not be a success in the league as only Ruud has come from Holland and produce the goods. Is Harry going to take that gamble when we need to finish in the top six this season?

I don't think he will.

not true :p

jimmy floyd, robin, arjen & dennis to name a few. some will even say dirk and marc.

Sorry i thought we were on about strikers????

All of the above were good players in the premiership but they don't score 15-20 goals a season in the premiership after having a record of 1 in under every 2 games in Holland like Ruud. Kuyt had a great record in Holland but he has never looked like being a prolific striker and looks far better out on the right.

Jimmy Floyd actually came from Boavista which is where he made his name.

before boavista he has played at telstar, az and campomaiorense.

fact of the matter though is that he's still dutch and a striker.

You might of missed my point completely. I was comparing KJH with players like Ruud, Kuyt, Kezman, Alves etc who have scored goals for fun in holland yet apart from Ruud the others have not been prolific in the premiership.

I wasn't saying No Dutch players have never been good in the premiership.:bang:

van persie scored 20 in 44 last year and had 15 assists as well.

Sorry but when did Van Persie have a one goal in under every two game record in Holland?

Also Van Persie has never scored more then 11 goals in one season in the premiership. So basically you have read what you have wanted to read and then go off on oneEek

oeh indeed him also! but i think ils meant players that have played in the eredivisie and went straight to the epl.

epl didnt became popular prior to bergkamp though so this arguement is a bit unfair since not many have gone through this path.

ligue 1 hasn't exactly provided many succesful strikers to the epl either, let alone another competition apart from la liga.

Hmmm.... not very impressive, Do you think we'd stand any chance by making a cheeky £10m bid for that boy Benzema??! Now he was class:bowdown:
